You can buy an adapter to turn it into a USB for PC for around 10 dollars. You don't have to do do nothing but plug it in. So You don't need to operate on Your NES controller to play PC games!

  3. can you reverse that i got a good cord could i soder it to an original board.

  4. to Hell with This' i use my PS1 Controller or the SNES Controller with a USB Adapter so i can play ALL my Games (-:

  5. Would you be able to do this with the nes cable still attached?

    BRUUUUUHHHH

  6. Will this work on retro pi with the raspberry pi 3?

  7. does this work for the nes max

  8. DISLIKE, sorry but it just pisses me off to see stuff like this. Destroying ORIGINAL hardware! (reply with all the hate :P). I hate seeing people replace the original design of a simple, nice, shift register with a stupid, reaking of the DRM digital realm USB!! (some crappy serial, over a simple serial of a shift reg). If you want an original controller converted to USB, use a board with a usb plug and a (newly manufactured) female NES controller plug, NOT wrecking an orignial controller. What would piss me off even more is if someone took an original NES console and put some shitty ARM emulation hardware gutting the case, and storing the motherboard with the orignial authentic 2C02 and 2A03 unused. Don't even use a damn gyromite or golf cart for a dev cart (I might need to do that some day though :P). Yeah, excuse my shitty comment but FUCK YOU, DONT DESTROY ORIGINAL HARDWARE. I'm an ass, yeah!

  9. To everyone saying "why not just buy a $5 USB NES controller?":

Have you ever used one? The D-Pads are terrible. So terrible, that you could never play any NES games properly. There's a reason why they are $5…

  10. dang he sounds so different now in 2016

  11. Very nicely done.

What emulator do you use for the NES games?

  12. Hey Nicholas Testla, there's a silent "d" in soldering????

  13. how does this kid have the expertise to do something like this yet doesn't know how to pronounce the word "soldering"??

  14. Do you have a PS2 version of this video anywhere? I have a PS2 controller, but its cable has already been cut off. I would love to see a tutorial/hack for the PS2 controller too! 😛

  28. English isn't my first language, but wouldn't the correct sentence be "How to Hack "an" NES controller" ? I'm not trying to be a dick. Its an honest question, proper use of grammar is important to me 🙂

  29. Is the USB controller one specifically designed for the NES wires, or is it some sort of universal one? (Hence, USB.)

  30. @bjjensen86
You know it could also be his accept, or a speech impediment making it hard for him to say the word properly… not everyone is illiterate you know.

  31. Golly, couldn't get past souldering. It's pronounced soddering. Illiteracy plagues our society.
