High end VR users ( pimax etc) are still in the dark if we want to turn up all graphic fidelity with smooth frame rates. The new 4090 bench marks on games like flightsim etc still struggle to hit 90 fps.Guess its the 5000 series we need 😢
how about they stop all this crazy power draw huge wattage and just keep 3090 ti proformance but only use pcie slot power (75 watts max) its pointless making them more powerful but the user needs a power station, in a year or two my city will black out and ill say aww that guy in the town centre turned on his gaming pc again and his GPU tripped the power station and cause a ractor to go into melt down through run away over heating drawing all its bloody power. (send afew to russia lol)

Im waiting for AMD, the 7800xt looks promising.
Was gaming since 2015 with a 980Ti and 4970k. While it was OK for some time, and probably still would be for some casual gamers that play solo campaigns etc, I had to play very very low details and <1920 resolution to achieve "ok-ish" framerates in warzone. Even then some very big drops on busier maps or zones/action impacted my performance a lot. Was going for a 3080 but might just wait for the 4080 (Really depends on the price) then later when new 14000 intels are out upgrade the rest.
this 4000 series is gotta be a scam I think I dont need DLSS i want pure RAW FPS greater than 3080

Considering i bought a 3090 Ti just for gaming pm. its a possibility for me, depends on price, and only reason why is better performance = higher fps 4k play at higher graphics settings, i personally love seeing a games beauty at full, though it would also be seen as a rendering benefit if i do anything related to that, id imagine a 4090 would be nutty at rendering

I have been waiting for something like this, currently on a 2080Ti which is still very well performing. But gaming at 4K at FPS over 60, you just need more. So yeah, I'll grab one – I'm ready!
I currently have a GTX 1070 and will be ready to spend about $900. I play on a 4K screen and at the time my PC handled it well but with the newer games it has started lagging behind and I need to turn down the graphics settings and in my opinion if you're playing on 4K, anything lower than "high" beats the purpose of even having 4K in the first place, just downgrade to 1440p in that case. In any case I don't like making compromises and the 4000 series looks like its playing a game I like
Hell yeah?! I consider buying 4 of those for Genshin Impact and occasional RTX Minecraft, hope it'll will be powerful enough to deal with those absolute beasts of games!!!

Nah. I bought my 3080 FE around the launch date for MSRP price. I undervolted it and the performance/temps results are wonderful. I play at 3440×1440. This puppy keeps up very well with everything I play.
I'm still running a 2070 super. it handles the games i play without any issues. I was considering buying a new gpu this year but ill probably just wait for the next generation. If anything ill buy 3080ti after the 40 series launches so that i can get it at a better price.
fuck the new 40 series i just want a 3060 msrp to beable to atleast play 1080p comfortably after all these years

Why would it go from 3090 to 4080?
Yeah, I have no plans to buy a 40 series. I am upgrading from a MSI Ventus GeForce GTX 1660 to a 2070 Super. The 2070 Super is used and going to cost me $125. I'm lucky that my friend is always upgrading electronics and selling me his old parts on the cheap! This will help me along until I decide to pull the trigger and complete a new build!

Member when people were freaking out about 1k gpu prices? Honestly, if I was nvidia I’d just do an apple & milk the 30s as long as possible. If the ps5 nonesense proved anything it’s that people will still buy them
3080 barely makes 60 fps at 1440p in many AAA titles, this is such an embarrassment, I have a 4K 144Hz monitor and I'm going to play at what, 30 fps? Even with the 4080 being 1.5 times as powerful as the 3080, that is still nowhere enough. I will be turning towards AMD to see if their top end matches the price of a 4080 but with 4090 tier performance

yes! I really want a 4090ti! I'm going for a build that can crush 8k and iv'e got a 3080ti rn but in spiderman with my settings cranked up at 4k i'm still dipping down to 40 fps which isnt where I want my build to be at. Thanks for the heads up on the power draw though! I've just got my fingers crossed I don't have to sell too many kidneys to get this beast LOL
"Apparently" the entire industry, no matter which division, no matter where in the world, is in a raw material crisis. so why don't companies buy the used mining cards and melt them down to have enough raw materials for chips and so on again?
