This is a great an inexpensive way to connect wireless. The only problem with this setup is that the PC needs to be on, also when your PC goes to standby mode the connection will be lost. I remember connecting like this at first however i used a switch (hub) since my networking cables were not long enough. Eventually i started connecting the XBOX to a repeater/extender and that was more convenient since i didn't have to turn on the PC to get a wireless signal. Nowadays I have the XBOX adapter which you can buy a lot cheaper these days then back then. But these are the two methods that do work great when you don't have the adapter.
