IMPORTANT TIP if you're having issues reconnecting an iPhone to the Mac! After you connect the iPhone and want to use the phone again tap "Pause" and not "Disconnect" on the iPhone. This will allow you to go back to using it as a camera. If you click disconnect, you'll need to restart the Mac in order to reconnect…Hopefully Apple resolves this soon.
Ahh theres no option for using my iphone camera 🙁 only the one of my imac. whyyy
can you do cinematic?
Does this work on MacBook 2017? I somehow do not have the selection of cameras.
is this work if pairing with an ipad
3:30 You know you can click 'HD' in the video settings you were in before so that it doesn't compress right?
Nice video! My Mac Mini isn’t detecting my iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone is running on IOS 16 and Mac mini is on Ventura 13. Any suggestions?
Awesome feature but turns out you cant Zoom with it connected this way. a huge shame seeing as the next closest free alternative is IRIUN which is extremely Laggy and temperamental. this is a solid solution if you only need a fixed angle. but if your putting your phone on a stand and using it overhead in the traditional manner you'd better be happy with the normal wide angle. unless someone can show me another way.
can you use this with any other software? or is it compatible with just facetime?
I had everything set up correctly, yet it still didn’t work. For me, signing out and in to my Apple account on both devices fixed the problem.
Reincubate Camo and EpocCam is not blurry in Zoom with my iPhone 11. The built in camera features are. Not there yet. I teach piano virtually. I was hoping the Desk view would show a more 16:9 view of the piano. It is very 4:3. Its a step in the right direction but I will stick to my overhead and Cam apps for now. Kudos for the desk view. that really is some magic. If with better cameras we can get to 16:9 that would be epic.
Can I use this new feature with Quicktime Player?
Does anyone know if this works for facebook or bongo video chats? I see the microphone as a connection option, but not the camera. Mine works fine for Facetime and Discord chats, just wondering if this is a security permissions issue or just incompatibility at this time thanks!
Hı Justin, did you ever try it WhatsApp video conversation? Work or not?
This is brilliant. Thank you for sharing! Really appreciated!
My MacBook Pro only detects my Iphone when it is plugged into the laptop with the USA cable. I have followed all the steps and nothing works. It sucks!
i have account with different icloud so i cant use (its my mom"s phone)
???
My 12 and m1 mini is up to date. It worked one time then closed and tried again and its not working. All settings are correct.
I did all the step by step but my iphone didn't show anything, and neither did my mac
Can this be used with an iMac or only the laptops? Also, does only work with iPhone 14 or can it be used with the camera on the iPhone SE?
Mine doesn’t even connect in the first place… wasting time here. iPhone 13 Pro and 2020 MacBook Pro, same wifi, bluetooth on, iCloud logged in… nothing. Barely any info on this. Restarted both. Just me?
Don't you still need very high-speed Internet?
Tell me you have a bad camera on the Mac without telling me you have a bad camera on a Mac 🤣
Good luck Apple users to use you phone while on a video call 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome video 😊
Thanks for the Info I was missing the Apple id
Great Video Justin! This is going to be soooo helpful when trying to show my parents how to use their iPhone, or new Apple Watch! I can't tell you how many times I have to tell my parents "flip the camera and show me what you're looking at". there response "how do I flip the camera". ugh !! 🤦♂
You're using the desk view incorrectly. What you wanted to show should be flat. Don't try to point the object parallel to the camera
Meh
I have the latest iphone update it doesn't have a continuity camera in the airplay hand off section

Excellent video, Justin. Upgraded to Ventura and ordered the Belkin mount today. Right now, I use Camo Studio with my iPhone for Zoom webinars and meetings and will need to check how the Continuity camera compares. I wish it had a zoom function…but maybe Apple will offer that in an update soon. BTW, you have a new subscriber.
a very good video , thanks for this 😃👌🏼
Can cnet talk about some of the iphone 14 pro camera issue? Someone I know upgraded to iOS 16.1 but their when doing video call with Whatsapp still have focusing issue. Maybe we should bring this issue up, and investigate how widespread it is, so Apple can pay attention and fix it.
It's nice, but I genuinely don't mind the 1080p webcam on the newer MacBooks. Certainly better than previous iterations and for me, perfectly fine for calls.
Too complicated 🤔
I updated my M1 mac pro to Ventura and I use iPhone x Max but somehow I can't connect both them and use the continuity camera. I tried every trick and it only works when I turn off and on either device and then connect but say if I want to use again after I disconnect I can't. What could be the problem?
I thought I was on Justin’s channel until the cnet logo showed up
Tried it but seriously, if only Apple would put a a better camera on their Macbooks we wouldn"t need these gimmicks.
Why not make MacBook webcam better? Integrate the same iPhone cameras into MacBooks.
anything similar for android tho?? 🤔
I have been using my Android phone as a web cam for 10 years
Desktop view is useless. If you’re showcasing anything just raise up to the camera and stop trying to make something that’s not a good solution to work
Sticking a weighted mount on a fragile laptop display is not a good idea long term. Still waiting for a reviewer to showcase a tripod solution
=)))) so way behind apple :)))
Even as an Android fan, I gotta admit this is pretty cool
