  1. Does each robot have to go through this learning period or is it possible to just have one robot get really good at it and download its brain (if you will) into copies?

  2. Don't forget to add some weapon on it. It will be very useful for humanity in general… As it happened with drones!

  3. Insanity. Can't wait for these idiots to be battered by their own machines. This has ONE use…. 'military'.

  4. she runs like a pug lol

    Lol

  5. Everyone knows this can and will be used as a weapon but we also know we can't really stop the progress of the technology so we just role with it

  6. yeah man , they gonna kill us !!

they seem to have neglected to add a motion efficiency term to the objective. even with a small relative weighting that should reduce the jittery motion and power usage.

  7. That thing would be running after you in the future. Therefore, the future is bright.

juste fast cause no batterie on

  8. AI for good, not abuse of it to harm

  9. isn't a robotic lagged robot already a norm?

  10. Someday this thing is gonna attack humans. Sad πŸ™

  11. It would be crazy if in a few years everyone is riding 4 legged robots to get around.

  12. I wonder if its running style will evolve to be more insectlike? Cockroaches are amazingly fast, but their style seems very chaotic compared to a dog.

  13. "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." Matthew 5:38-39:

They will put a gun on top of it.

  14. How about the battery? How long it lasts? Few minutes?

  15. can't you put something on it? Looks weird without head.

  16. About what Pulkit said…
… I think, if they can make it meow/ yelp like a real Cheetah and make it cuddle up to humans… then this application of the technology… would find mannnnnnnny takers in the (lonely humans) Japan.
    .
On a serious note; various fire departments and disaster management/ rescue teams could do with such things.
    .
If it can really properly manipulate objects.. then the thing would have endless applications.
    .
Both sides (say; the terrorists AND those trying to stop, foil such threats) can and would end up using such tech.

  17. Can you explain the difference it has with Boston Dynamics Spot?

  18. Oh how wonderful, now an even faster robo-dog for the government to chase and kill us with!

  19. As a computer scientist in his senior year, I think that robot has autism. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
    Sorry MIT, just saying.

  20. c/c++ software technology used?

  21. I think the reason why this type of running looks unnatural to us is because animals evolutionarily optimized running so that their heads stay stable for better vision and balance, and preventing the brain from constantly shaking, none of which apply to the Cheetah robot.

  22. The next step will be putting some form of weapon on it because of a lucrative U.S. military contract worth BILLIONS. The step after that is for the mass production of these machine so that they are included into ground troops standard field kits. Next, upgrading all computerized weapons and military satellites with the Mini Cheetah data processing programs (because it's efficient). Then, connecting the machines to a network set up with a AI to help process info, because it's just too much for the ground grunts to coordinate. Next, the machines become self aware. Lastly, humans become an endangered species.

  23. its a monster!

  24. 'At least for now' bro why are you doing this ?!

  25. Let's not kid ourselves folks. There's no way these are going to exceed the killing power of mosquitoes.

  26. A terminator for the future

  27. Imagine getting chased by one of those

  28. MIT…….Make It Terrifying
