I am still using my MSI RX 580 8 Gig overclock edition GPU untill I need to upgrade but it still runs all the games I have
get a decent cooler right off the bat, your time is more valuable than to replace something that has no business being there in the first place.
ideally your case already has the fans.
also get a cpu that can oc. it should add to longevity…if you dont kill it.

I did a build like this 11400f + z590 asus prime + sapphire nitro+ 6700 xt 16gb 3200mhz, and psu 750w gold, and was getting 60 fps in fortnite 1440p no matter what, so i decided to change mu gpu for a asus dual 3070 and now is running smootly, and im changing the 11400f with a 5600x

there is a lot of bottleneck in this pc, the i5-11400f combines very well with the rx 5700 xt.

Just bought a 6600xt for $600 so if you build one with these specs, it will cost well over 1k.
I recreated this PC build and came in at around 1330 CHF or approx. 1050£ so quite a bit on the more expensive side… I strongly believe it's because of the GPU situation, the RX 6600XT comes in at around 600 CHF. Can't find the fans though quite a shame since they look nice! Actually, the RTX 3060 would cost 20 CHF less
