  1. Do it with a 4090 now

Hybrid watercooler here on evga ftw3 3090 max daily 2055mhz 1081mv custom curve + 1400mhz vram, solid and 60c max inside the case, i will beat these scores, awesome!

  2. i doubt ill get an answer but…the k5pro they used as thermal paste…is it worth doing it if we think were not gonna reopen it again?

  3. you guys could've heated the board with a HEAT GUN FIRST. Lol. you don't gotta hold it up close and cook parts off or something, hold it like 12 inches away and day dream for a little while then check how hot it is

  4. 6:54, the prior statement was blasphemous. I have used a 67 watt hakko in thousands of applications, including on my own 3090ti and never had a problem. This was user error. I obviously don't prefer such low wattage but I do find myself using it as it is alot less bulky than my 150 watt.

  5. The mod is easy when you know how to solder 😂

  6. Awesome! I'm gonna do this on my laptop!

  7. did you really put those resisters in parallel?… i hope you are aware resisters in parallel reduce resistance, example 2 1ohm resisters in parallel will result in a resistance less than 1ohm.

  8. My 3070ti eating 350w and showing 2100 core and 10700 memory. All stock.

  9. 6:50 LOL that is absolutely not true …..I solder much beefier boards with a 70w soldering iron….. you guys just either can’t solder well or your soldering iron PID loop for the temperature control is broken

  10. My question is if some novice like me does this and messes it up is Linus tech tips liable? (I’m joking I’m not going to try this).

  11. Can you please help me? I have a rtx 3080 turbo by gigabyte
It's really hot and loud, Yes turbo sucks for home usage.
I couldn''t find any waterblocks for it.
How can I make it cooler?

Kyle sounds like hes south African? Probably form durban or CPT

  12. i would like what k9pro would become more harder gum after you apply, as to clean its blossomy its madness, Maddness? thisis sparta :DDD

  13. 5:18 YEAH BOIIIIIIIIIIII

  14. I use the exact same soldering iron, it is totally fine for something like this. anyone just slightly experienced with soldering can tell that the dude has just no idea on how to solder lol

  15. I’m so happy Alex has embraced his inner mad scientist.

  16. What happens if a shunt fails on GPU, what effect does a overheating shunt have on power draw 🙂 heat increases ressistance then increases heat creating a run away thermal event 🙂

  17. we use a similar design for measuring current in large -48v strings. At first I was confused because a BMS system can also use "shunt" diodes to bleed off current in preventing overcharge at a a specific voltage. It's probably a situation of knowing enough to think I know more than I do. There should be a phrase for that effect.

  18. It work with original cooler after this modding for an FE 3090 ?

  19. compare the power usage / performance ratio
… but don't forget to account for that leaking beast on the bench as well …
That might come down to like 20x the power consumption compared to stock

  20. Am I correct in thinking that "safety" warnings about overclocking a stock card, with something like Afterburner, are completely untrue with modern hardware?
I mean, Nvidia has all the "safety" issues covered, right?

  21. Wait what, are you saying that signed modded nvidia drivers are available for a variety of cards? So nvidias driver signing infrastructure is completely compromised? what the fuck

  22. "This GPU Drew 390 Watts"

    those were the days

  23. Yo this guy kinda looks like chris prat

  24. Watching them try to solder was painful. That tip, too… and did they not use ANY flux?

  25. An ultrasonic cleaner probably would have removed that TIM pretty easily…

  26. I love these videos, please let alex make more
