  1. Lmfao all of Nintendo's "exclusives" will be on the SD. Remember everything is Available on PC

  2. I want one

  3. When I get mine I want to see it download iTunes then I’ll believe it’s a PC only the PC can download iTunes

  4. I hope I can mod change the drive. 512Gb is too small

  5. steamOS improvements, better webrowser, support for installing apps for the browser, a bottom deck (no pun intended) for icons, a game mode like windows 10 pro’s were it turns off hardware and software using unnecessary bandwidth and resources to dedicate more to the game, a dedicated software like laptops have for checking temps and over locking(exclusively for the deck)
Physical deck improvements: delided apu, usb c compression, slightly more powerful apu,
Ones that co-exist with each other:proper Bluetooth support, casting to devices and docking and on the go modes.
    Oh and possibly a stylus

Incredible That Winona Ryder is trying something new

  6. It looks cool, but like…would I have to play Age of Empires and other RTS games with a trackpad? Eww.

  7. Dear Valve, please ensure replacable joycons ! Joycons drift after few months, and if we have to return the whole thing, you will get a horrible reputation.

"or even know how long valve might support it" valve has never dropped support for a hardware device. The controllers and the steam link are still getting updates. And steam machines were a third party thing, not really pushed by valve. The steam link only stopped getting sold because new TV's started coming with what they added out of the box.

  8. But will it run TIS-100?

  9. Damn cnet is like watching. On thirtteen 13. Boring zzzzz

  10. does it come with the girl

They need to bring back the steam controller! I would love to have the steam controller and steam deck

  14. "Be good humans."

  15. "I don't think anyone can guarantee the success of the Steam Deck"

I'd say the fact that is a fully functioning AMD SoC running Linux is more than enough to guarantee it's success, maybe not in Valve's support of it, but in the 3rd party community.
Especially with things like Linux modders for people out there who may not know how, or don't want to wipe the device and switch to Windows.
Then there's the fact that you can wipe it and switch to Windows which should mean it'll be easy to install/update drivers directly from AMD.

When 3dFX went out of business in 99/2000 somewhere around there, the Voodoo 5.5 GPU, the last one ever released was supported with drivers from the 3rd party community for a long time.
But seeing as how this is a completely custom AMD SoC, and AMD is still supported the RX 480 Series released 5 years ago. I'm sure (at least for the Windows side) This device will have some level of support along with YouTubers and the internet for possibly the next 5 years after launch.

    People: I want a PC but I can’t get one…

    Valve: Anything else?

    People: No, that’ll be it.

Valve: Okay, that’ll be 400 dollars at the Holidays.

  16. First, we are in the current gen of consoles… But the games I'm most stoked about playing portable…

    PSO2 NGS
    Streets of Rage 4
    Rogue legacy 2
    Roots of Pacha
    Stardew valley

    Ohh the list is long.

  17. AAA games on the go finally without to much compromise

  18. even if it flops and they stop supporting it, it will make an awesome emulation machine

Can it run utube Vanced tho

  19. 1:55 Stuff like this is probably why they didn't make it OLED, serious risk of burn-in they want to avoid.

  20. I'm not a fan of this device from gaming aspect, but as far as PC application's and such I'm really warming up to it. I guess I really have to see what the modding community does with it. 🤔✌

One thing that I'm VERY happy about is that there is Bluetooth. I hate having to carry around wired earbuds along with my normal earbuds when I travel with my switch.

  21. I'm sticking to my switch lite.

  22. Has there been any word on the battery life of this?

  23. no SIM card? how portable is it? If i want real gaming experience, I get gaming laptop, if I want lightweight bigger screen I will get tablet, If i want portability, I will just bring my phone!

  24. Ehh if only it was oled

  25. I will always stand by my Switch, but the Steam Deck seems amazing. I had to preorder one.

  26. I have a steam controller. It's a gimmicky little piece of tech but I adore the thing.

    Can't wait to get mine

  27. and another nice thing that it will work nicely with steam link and streaming! So can play RDR2 or Cyberpunk in some corner quietly 😀

  28. I actually plan to use it for work on-the-go, as it's essentially normal PC, and games are very nice extra

  29. Excellent idea, library of my games most to play straight out of box 😂 if only can afford it I would buy it.

  30. Well I reserved my Steam Deck Friday night. I should be getting the $649.00 one. You said the main reason why I choose the steam deck is to upgrade my 2017 dell laptop 🙂 Your the first person that called it more than just a gaming handheld 🙂 Which it is. I plan on installing windows and using it as my main pc with the dock or with out it. That $650 is still alot cheaper than so far any Dell that I looked at online to game and do what basically I need to do online everyday. I am excited for it and ready to own it 🙂

  31. This is a Steam machine. The only difference is that it is first party from Valve rather than third party from Valve’s partners.

PC component but in consoles body

  32. nobody said its dumb….

  33. I hope we can dual boot the steam os and windows

  34. "Nintendo's first party games won't be available on the Steam Deck" laughs in emulation while holding up a middle finger to Nintendo

  35. when daddy Gaben pulled out his big Steamy Deck 🥵

  36. paying for a game you can emulate LMAOOOOOOOOO STEAM DECK GANG RISE UP!

  37. Probably wont be able to handle Arma 3 since it mainly requires keyboard.

  38. I'm hoping for following games to run in a good way once the developers do a bit of an adjustment:
    Final Fantasy 14
    Persona 4 Golden

And I know that Nier Automata and Tekken should work, if the handheld is good enough.
With Proton at least Tekken works just as good as on windows.
And that's a fighting game where lag would be noticable.

I definitely agree on the Switch competition question: my Switch and Deck will live side-by-side in beautiful harmony.
