After owning the Steam Deck for a couple months at this point and comparing it to my Odin Pro and Switch OLED, itβs amazing to see that Valve not only delivered on everything they promised, but actually surpassed expectations and completely blowing the handheld PC market wide open.

Mine froze whilst playing Half Life 2 yesterday. On the level with the Ant Lions attacking in that mine. I got a Steam popup that asked if my experience was consistent w/ the Steam Deck approved label, and of course I said no. Perhaps they are working on it, but a little concerned about high level play in the future.

I think the criticism about the too low resolution is legitimate; Because all games just have a higher resolution; This resolution is incomprehensible for 2022! and its definitely a very big minus point in my purchase decision!

Never cared for consoles or switch. If you know what you are doing then you can create a setup that has everything like sound quality, performance and etc. You can tune it to make it comfortable to you. If you have a plan then you won't literally burn your wallet either. Not only have I solid experience in all the areas but PC is freedom too. While these consoles have cool games I won't buy one to play 1-2 games. A lot of them come to PC these days even if takes some time. It's not like I have nothing to play.
Point is this device is interesting to me since I saw it long time ago. A smaller PC made as a handheld gaming device that has great versatility and quality. Instead of "look at me I am switch and on switch you will do what nintendo wants" I can just use as smaller laptop or something. I can use it with my tv. I can use it with my pc. I can mod to do something else. Or I can just carry it and use it as handheld device. Quality, freedom and versatility is something a lot of people love to have in their devices.
Hi, i'm thinking to buy the Steam Deck Valve portable console / pc and use the joycons with it, connect the console to the television and play some wii / switch games through an emulator but I was wondering if is possible to play games like the old Wii Sports or Mario Ace Tennis for switch using joycons motion controls in this way…Basically i want to use the wii / switch pc emulator on the steam deck to play games which requires swinging around the joycons or nunchuck like the first Wii on a tv connected to the steam deck , would it be possible? Thank you!

the worst was knowing that it has the dock π my switch lasted a few months before the dock didn't work and now it's just sitting there collecting dust cuz I hate using the switch screen. it's so tiny that you can't really see the little details you need to be actively searching for in order to get stuff done in the game. Thus, it made me hate nintendo all over again! I HOPE!!!! this won't have the same issue but I'm going to wait a few years before I get one cuz I'm done buying quick cash grabs of garbage…

Hoenstly the steam deck is what i have wanted for years from a handheld console that is my entire steam libery but portable. i do own a switch but having to rebuy all my games at nintendo overinflated prices is kinda insane the steam deck besicly gives me the ability to play all my games i already own but anywhere witch is perfect for me. it is a slight annoyance that this only seams to work with steam only games so i dont think ea ubisoft or epic will be usable unless you install some 3rd party softwear on it but its still more than the switch has offered me tbh this just measn i will only buy first party games for my switch and can just stick to th steam deck for everything else XD
