Big save on AC, I made a floor fan to a ceiling fan. One is Lasko this fan stands on the floor and swivels 90 degrees. That standing part that stays on the floor has to be screwed to the ceiling. To make it easy to remove I found the stud on the ceiling and screwed a hook and added another hook to the fan. From floor to the ceiling is 72 inches. Ran an extension cord to power it up. I have another set up made above my bed. The same type of fan, it's mounted at 32 inches above the bed on a wood frame that I made to attach it. It has saved me a lot of money on electricity. I just turn my AC on when the fans aren't cooling enough.
I actually take my fans when really dirty and just straight up wash them. Yep motor and all. I just make sure it’s a warm day outside and let the sun and heat dry and evaporate all the liquid. After a few hours of this when I’m sure there is no more moisture I’m good to go. Fan is perfectly clean and took me very little effort.

Man. You guys used a feature of ceiling fans as a "hack". A "hack" is using something in an unintended way. You can't put a built-in feature in a video about hacks.

If I could, I'd kiss you for the ceiling/bungee cord hack….I have a 3-wall floor to ceiling sunporch that really gets overwhelming, and the many fans I've had are either too much and disrupt the small room, or an outlet isn't convenient for smaller ones. The ceiling idea is great, 'cause there's not enough room for a Casablanca-type fan!
