Hmm mediocre choices all around šŸ¤”

  1. I like to call these ā€œCOAL FIRE CARSā€. Bc thatā€™s what they are.

  2. Hi. I'm open for a Tesla model 3 (lightly used) or a small SUV, and need a point of view from a value perspective ( also considering the new Prius and the '23 tax credit).

  3. is there a video like this on the used car tax credit

  4. Tesla was out there almost alone in the E V market. They are going to face a ton of competition, let's see how Tesla holds up with all this competition coming its way. I'm personally impressed by the Chevy Silverado and all it has to offer.

  5. No Detroit junk, no electric BS, for me. I'm in a 7 year old Mercedes with ZERO repairs. That's where I'm staying. NO PAYMENTS.

  6. They can keep that ev junk they couldn't pay me enough to buy one.

  7. Also new credits have income limits.

  8. What about Fisker Ocean? Any tax credit on that?

  9. Sorry but the cybertruck looks like a failed 7th grade metal shop project. Aside from that, in 2/21 I bought a new Mazda CX-5 for 32k. The 18k difference between that and a 50k electric car buys a lot gas. Especially since I work from home and fill up about every month and a half.

  10. Honestly we should be pushing tax credits towards hybrids and plug in hybrids. When it comes down the road to replacing the batteries it won't cost $20-30K for batteries instead it would be 3-5K from a dealer from what I've seen for old prius / Toyota hybrid replacements. Chrisfix even has a video for diy people to replace their bad hybrid battery using a third party one that's half dealer price.

  11. WOW a reel to reel! Cool !!!

  12. LOLOL!!!! THIS 80,000 TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU IDIOT! WHO WOULD BE THAT STUPID TO PAY THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    ())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

If I make 110k M.A.G.I. per year when I take delivery of the car in February 2023, but I make 220k M.A.G.I. when I file my tax return in 2024, will I still qualify for the EV tax credit for that 2024 tax return?

  13. So, what about Aptera and Canooā€™s pipelines?

  14. Ford mach-e made in Mexico
NO tax credit for outside US

  15. Most of these cars are not readily available. Some others are crap with poor battery choice.

  16. c/net used to be my go-to for all things computing back in the 1990's. I'm glad I've found them again for all things EV. But now with many affordable EV choices coming to market, I fear our poor power grid won't be able to stand the load. In California, we're already getting Flex Alerts on hot summer days. What's going to happen if we all plug our EV's in at the same time? Also due to the drought, we may be losing our ability to produce hydro power. I've heard that just a loss of 10 more feet in the level of Lake Mead will force the Hoover Dam off line.

  17. GM and LG Chem is not going to age well.

  18. So the Tesla model 3 rear wheel drive will qualify for the full tax credit starting 2023?

  19. Thank you Brian, for all your videos. Any reason why you never talk of Fisker Ocean?

  20. Rivian doesn't qualify

  21. Good luck getting an F150 Lightening under $80K with all these markups dealors are doing to it. A 40K Cybertruck won't see the light of day like a 30K Equinox. Speaking of the Equinox that was left off the list and will contain the new ultium battery. It's going to interesting to see what that's priced at.

  22. Currently EV is just waste of money

  23. oh my god, did he just suggest someone buy a Nissan Leaf in 2022???? šŸ˜€

  24. With Tesla, FSD is an option that can be purchased later as a software download so it wouldnā€™t affect the selling price in terms of the tax credit.

  25. Pony cars received the AARP cards.

  26. Contaminating and pumping 500,000 gallons of water per ton of Lithium is an environmental disaster on a global scale.
Thats what it takes to make the Lithium batteries is these EVs.

What about recycling the batteries i hear you say.

The process of recycling the batteries is inefficient and would produce more carbon emissions than making a new battery.
That should halt the EV market in its tracks.

  27. Great šŸ‘

  28. :7:00 The Cadillac Lyriq and GMC HummerEV will be powered by Ultium(TM), but what does that mean? What's the difference between Ultium(TM) pouch cells and the pouch cells used in the self-thermalizing battery packs of the Bolt EVs?

  29. 5:50 You're not going to lose any sleep for us not getting FSD? Well we did get FSD, and I don't particularly care about your sleep.

  30. There was a rumor that if you have an existing order and planned to get it delivered this year, you would fall under the old EV tax incentives. Any info on whether this is true?

  31. Apetra still unknown at this point?

  32. So does this mean I can't put an order on a Tesla Model Y until Jan 1 or I can't take delivery until then?

  33. This is the guy I trust for car reviews. Been listening to Brian Cooley's great voice for years.

  34. Nissan Leaf is not built in North America. It therefore lost its tax credit at the signing of the bill.

  35. Ridiculous and mostly ugly cars. Really adds to the greed dealer.

  36. Just to clarify. You could get the FSD after purchasing the car. Why would you not mention that. Why is everyone so anti Tesla.

    Fisker is coming on November!šŸ¤”

  37. And dealer markup is eating 30-100% of the rebate. The subsidy is going directly to the dealer and not the consumer.

  38. DON'T get a Nissan! They are at risk of folding!

  39. This is really helpful thanks! I will say, I don't think it's fair to say the Cybertruck is so far off and not say the same about the Silverado. Yeah the Cybertruck was delayed but they're both in the testing phase as of now. Some Silverado trims won't be available until 2024

  40. I miss cnet on cars with Cooley car reviews ;(

  41. What about 2023 Lincoln Corsair PHEV?

  42. Your video titles are too long. Donā€™t bury the lede. And the different rules between suvs and cars is part of what manipulates sales and is killing the cars. Applies to crash standards, pollution and tax credits. This why we have the hideous Mustang crap.

For the cost, the EVā€™s should be V2G or V2H. Getting something back for the investment, utility credit, or using to run your home, low electric bills, would help with such expensive transportation.

  43. Chevy Bolt at $26000 is unbeatable value.

  44. So does Hyundai qualify in the old if you buy before the end of the year? Iā€™ve been on their list, but was told that it lost all rebates immediately.

  45. The current ID.4 from Germany is currentlyeligable for the $7500 tax credit
