Interesting points gathered in a short video. Nice.
I wonder if we'll ever see silicone car tires.
Liked and subbed just because you used combustion cars over the silly acronym made by someone who deserves severe frostbite on their genitals
"we can raise our prices", are you saying that there is collusion in the industry? So there is no real competition to offer the best value for the $ for the consumer? Just gouging? Is that what the industry has become? Show your work…
“Get sharp about electric cars by not not buying them” I fixed the title
I have 2008 Prius Touring, 16" wheels. Bought expensive hi-pressure tires after original Bridgestone's wore out in no time. Next replacements did not last much longer. Bought ultra high performance Michelin tires, not hi pressure tires. Got exactly the same MPG over the next few years, virtually did not change 1 mpg. Bought an equivalent Vredstein tire set. Wasn't rated as less rolling resistance but max pressure same as original tires. Performance is similar to Michelins, mpg went up 2 mpg over original and wear rate went way down. Wet perfrormance is outstanding, Cost 1/2 as much as all the other tires. Personally think the low rolling resistance sales pitch is a scam. All the tires were rated H, and for Prius Touring. Put similar Vredstein tires on my daughter's 2004 Prius, 15" wheels, same results. Mpg and wear rate improved.
Dont most drivers when tires are needed simply take their car to their
trusted tire dealers & say' Here, replace with whats on it'? If a driver
was to try to install an under graded tire to save $$ I think the tire store
will say 'No, our insurance will not let us put those cheap tires on so you
can kill yourself.'
!
So unless someone comes up with bamboo tires, we're still dependent of Saudi Arabia 😒
Let me get this right
I can use these “EV tires” on a regular car if I want a more quiet ride?
If so, that can make ICE luxury cars almost as quiet as EV’s!
Suggest you might want to take an economics course. Car prices go up when financing goes down because demand goes up as more people can afford the payments. And yes you can expect EV tires to cost more because they cost more to make as you carefully detailed.
1. Rolling resistance: Less is more efficient for any round object, bearings, tires, etc. – Just ask the railroad.
2. Grip: Varies with surface conditions, limits torque on tires on all vehicles. – A good driver adjusts for conditions, everything is not a race.
3. Tread Wear: Mostly controlled by driver. Drag Racers burn up a lot of tires. Most good tires have a tread wear warranty.
By specifying certain types of tires EVs try to get better mileage and possibly range to compete. These tires would help any vehicle increase efficiency.
What's the price difference, does anyone know.
So Pirelli Rosso Nero tires are no longer the latest and best?
I'm so old.
Naaa. I just buy me some
Thompson tires and stick a chip to their sides with duck tape, that will do. (I'm from Kentucky)
No need to rotate tires on an EV. Weight distribution on a EV makes it not necessary.
HUH this is just another way too charge more and you get less
they are here to cheeet you just right
How should I rotate my tires if the tires are different sizes in front and back? Also you should do a video on spare tires for an emergency as none of these cars come with a spare.
Well Tires, AND BRAKES!
Hate the auto industry…raising tire prices on consumers just cause they’re “saving” money not paying for gas. Pathetic.
What about the run flat tires used by Tesla?
Why are you yelling? Take it down a notch…
Sooo if I buy electric car tires for my regular car seems like they would last almost forever? 🙂
Regular tire rotations are required if you’re trying to receive a credit for your worn tires before the rated mileage was reached.
This is a manufacturer’s warranty that the tire shop gives you and instant credit when replacing tires. L
Within 9 months time; 8k miles… replaced the OEM Hankook tires, and again replaced the warranty set… all eight (8) tires suffered side belt. “Bulges”… these EV rated tires do not do well on Michigan highways. Most highways are riddled with bumps and cracks; causing a rough ride and extra stress on the tires. Unfortunately, I went ahead paid out of pocket for a different manufacturer. 22k miles later with no tire issues. If buying aftermarket tires, always consider the road hazard warranty! Especially when the manufacturer will not stand by their products… “cough!!! Hankook!” With all that said, tires are designed for vehicles as elaborately explained in the video, not around road conditions. Know your roads and seasonal conditions, find the dependable tires that keep you safe!
Yea you need tires that are electric to prevent the car and tire to be shorted together during driving 😁
I'm an advocate for having a diverse investment strategy . I grew to a 7 figure mark with my portfolio having exposure to different areas of the market , including small and large – caps of the ETF index , international stocks , coins , grade bonds and alternatives like currency markets , as this helps manage the overall risk on my portfolio managed by my FA .. Credits to my adviser , It has been a year and half of steady financial growth .
Maybe you can address hybrid tires.

EV owners will actually be worse off, not better off. The ticket price is a lot higher for a start, which means if you're buying on a personal contract plan, your monthly costs will be higher too (possibly a lot higher), which offsets any 'running cost' savings immediately. On top of that, fast DC charging is getting more and more expensive per kW/h, so in the UK at least, if you have to DC charge regularly, it's now at price parity with diesel running costs, and in some cases, more expensive (home charging costs are also a lot more expensive now too due to the energy crisis). Let's not forget that EV tyres are also a LOT more expensive – think high-end sports car prices. Just want to make it clear that owning an EV is not cheap in any respect.
Depends on driving style. Drive less aggressive and EV tires last even longer then a ICE car.
