Musk, a guy who prefers throwing money away for attention seeking when he could instead be using it to solve hunger in at least one nation and get a lot more positive feedback from that
Ubiquiti equipment is already not the most secure.
Theyve been leaking engineers and pushing new internal culture of people cheap. Soon you will see unifi being the same as netgear.
"Adult man"? As opposed to… some sort of "childhood man"?
LOL, "train tracks" as the nickname for old-school braces: that's pretty funny!
Haha, I love the additional April Fools' Day stories!
Serious, Luke, you don't think you ever cried about sad stuff? Also… when you "first got" those systems? As opposed to when you got them… again later?
Yeah, I agree, outside of an immediately familial relationship, that term "daddy" is kind of creepy.
Why shouldn't twitter make a feature that allows the edit notification to not show up until either someone has interacted with the edited post or a certain amount of time has gone by, just so things like errors can be caught and corrected without deletion and without having to show an embarrassing error in the history? Especially since we can delete and resubmit anyway, and most people don't have access to the backdata history, essentially making an uninteracted-with edit the same as a deletion and reposting, other than time?
"I think we need to choose our male role models better, frankly."
Yes, I can think of 3 of them right off the top: Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. There ya go!
And I definitely agree with you about taking care of your families.
"Now… now…"? Oops!
"When people talk about freedom of speech, particularly in America, they're [usually] talking about the constitutional right."
Just "in America"? Uh, well… there's a bunch of countries in America, including yours. Not all of them have widely constitutional rights. So… which one or ones?
"Accidentally… by accident"? Oops.
I love you guys, but you are so horribly wrong about the Elon topic. Also, as an American, our problem regarding the free speech portion of the topic is, NOBODY should ever be able to control speech beyond what is not legally protected. That is a view that a large portion of Americans feel very strongly about. The right to free speech should never be infringed in any way. The right to free speech should also never be considered only to be applicable in the public space. It should be a right in both the public and private space. There is no logical or moral reason for it not to be.
ASSault
what is Luke's current phone if the Pixel always fail him?
31:21 I think that the whole reason those were so bad was because they had used chips from Broadcom.
Anyway, I am using an old decomissioned AP. It is the square AC one with broadcom junk in it. Controller says it is a v2 or something, which was supposed to fix most of the issues with the first ones which were overheating, randomly shutting down etc.
If anyone could please guide me through getting OpenWrt compiled and working on this thing, I'd be so happy. I could just stick DD-Wrt on it, but I can't really justify the 25 bucks I would have to throw at it for a license, considering it would still be used just as an AP…
1:42:36
Why not get your wisdom teeth out under sedation? That way you avoid all the bad stuff. It's pretty standard here in the States.
I can't imagine pulling the brackets off like that. I'd be sure they'd ruin the teeth. They're glued on quite tightly. It's not like that's how they remove them.
I don't get why you did it. Why not just go to someone and ask them to fix the issue?
Waiting until the world isn’t $&*%#£¥&@$cked, so basically never doing pre orders.
The more WAN show I watch the more I like Luke and the less I like Linus
Weird question: Might the right to repair also apply for Software, like when a game is released with so many bugs, that it is essentially unplayable, should you/will you in the future have the right to be able to repair it?
have yall thought about doing kickstarter? seems to work for the wyrmwood guys?
"He's not gonna use it to buy Twitter…"
Weeell crap
Ad Hominens to the point of hilarity. Nobody seems to care more about Elon than Linus and Anthony: His shares, his motivations, his stocks, the threat of pump and dump, his PR and QC in Tesla, pumping of a crypocurrency, his involvement in charity, involvement in Ukraine. My favorite: how good of a Father he is????
What in the world does any of that have to do with the sheer fact: Twitter is currently an echo chamber that has censored, stifled and outright banned any opposing opinions? Elon challenges that, and that alone deserves praise.
But of course, let's not challenge that topic and instead, attack his character. It's a pathetic display from someone with no arguments to give, so let me help you out here: If you don't think he's good for his word, explain why with examples of past times he's lied. If you think free speech will be further stifled, explain why with relevant reasoning. If you think twitter will be mismanaged, maybe provide examples of such with his other companies. In other words: use your brain for 2 seconds please.
Sarah can be a fan of spot gloss all she wants, but plastic is plastic, unless you use something that isn't plastic to make it…
My guy Luke! Yes! Linus was just talking a bunch of shit about Elon without backing anything up. And just saying "not my words" doesn't mean you can just say whatever you want without taking responsibility
Recently going from a 1080p 60hz VA monitor to a 1440p 144hz IPS has been pretty eye opening of an upgrade, feel like I've gone from a PlayStation3 to a PlayStation5 or something.
Stealing Linus’s Trello for games you wanna play idea lol
Reeeee "good people on both sides" — if you actually watched the context (which you didn't), you would know he was referring to the CONSERVATIVES who were NOT NAZIS or WHITE SUPREMACISTS but were just there to fight for FREE SPEECH — dear God you guys are owned by the media and so dumb. Good little Canadians
Daddy Linus (affectionate)
Elon Musk is the closest thing we have to a Bond Villian. That's both amazing and horrible.
Twitter and Facebook etc have become the public square.
The solution to speech you don't like isn't banning, it's more speech.
Honestly love how honest and transparent you guys are with what's happening behind the scenes, it's quite refreshing to see
Reshuffling of the department means new videos with employees.
love how linus just disappeared after the intro ^^
I can't recall anyone who reached Bezo's, Musk, Jobs, Gates, etc. level without being a complete a**hole. It seems to go with the territory.
This show has become 90% advertisements and 10% news…
someone got fired at the very beginning of the show lmao
Will I be able to order from Europe?
0:28 this whole gendering thing is going too far
Family is complicated – both the family we choose and the family we don't. I'd be inclined to maintain a degree of clemency for such matters which are both fraught with real challenges and ultimately private (not necessarily in the "not our business" sense, but in the "we don't know nearly enough" sense). If you want to judge a man based on his dealings with others (a pretty good metric in general), his treatment of business partners and employees are prime data sources. Those relationships are not or at least should not be rife with emotional influence, and represent open, public responsibilities generally carried out in premeditated policy and contracts. Treatment of employees is especially noteworthy because that shows the responsibility he takes for those over whom he has power.
Too bad Musk's track record there is even worse.
Speaking of which:
A good boss takes care of his employees and uses his power wisely, for their collective and individual benefits.
A great boss limits his power so that it can't be used contrary to that ideal.
Linus considers unionization an indication of his failures, that his employees shouldn't need that kind of security – limiting him to the space somewhere between "good" and "great" but likely closer to the former.
What a shocker that the pirate SJWs at LTT don't like Elon Musk.
You talk about male role models but who are you going to do better than elon? playing the game of big money results in imperfection. Maybe only Bernie has 0 skeletons.
