When you think this is most interesting you saw from CES 2023 coverage and you are not into excavators or farming equipment π
Not sure why people are cheering for this, im sure this thing will bankrupt farmers and plus John dee didn't even use there own engines in there own tractor like mine has kabota Japanese engine
if you wanna use it inside. why waste so much money on li-ions battery and waste so much time on charging it . just plug it to the wall
Bridgett is a pro in explaining everything technology related. Well done!
Yeah looks good but if fertilizer cost $190 per acre when this machine hits the farm it will cost $600 per acre π.
John Deere Electric is key to American food security. Way to go John Deere
You cannot put John Deere and sustainable in one sentence…
Except when you say they're anything but sustainable.
How would they power a charging station for a construction site… I thought the whole reason they have fuel driven generators is because there typically isn't power during the digging phase…
Also, very cool money saving tech for the farmers. but how much does it cost and how long will it take for you to repay that machine with the savings of seed and fertilizer? Because if the initial cost is too much for farmers, they won't buy it.
John deer should focus AI technology and self-driving.
Great π
I own 2 Diesel diggers this looks like a losing proposition if you want to put bread on the table – Deere virtue signalling
Pollution will not be eliminated as most electricity is generated by burning coal!
Itβs a brilliant concept but they need the charging infrastructure to support the vehicles, hopefully it will be within the next 10 years as we desperately need to move away from fossil fuels. Also itβs lovely to see the gorgeous Bridget branching out into bigger tech, sheβs such a brilliant presenter
right to repair
Bridget I can really dig what youβre sayin here
Is there a way for them to put solar panels on the roof? Given that they are usually used out in the open, wouldn't that be efficient?
John Deere can get in the bin with their anti union and anti repair attitudes.
More options for our earthmovers!
The only situation I see where this thing is reasonably to be used, is on some type of indoor use.
whats the digger run time? 2 hours ?
geee would be nice if right to repair was in there better for the environment idea π±π±π±π±π±π±π±π±π±π± plant your comment below huh
It so cool!
Bridget is the GOAT tech reviewer.
It's cool and stuff, but how would a remote location be able to charge such an enormous battery? On site generators? Lol
@5:12 – ππ¨ππππ±
so fertilizer companies will make fertilizer for these machines and jack up the price to make up for that 650 million loss… its like organic food or HE detergents for new machines
It's nice to see Bridget's assignments broadening.
I'd like to see Bridget operating a Aliens Power Loader.
That's going to run out of juice π€£ faster
I like all this tech but we don't have the infrastructure to handle it anytime soon. Not to mention the extra fossil fuel needed to feed all of this electricity….
Compromised data linking gasoline/diesel release into the environment and cancer is on a par with the tobacco and blue asbestos industries.
And yes, on the whole the manufacture of electrical vehicles will eliminate these gasesβ¦
Unfortunately the history of chemical sprays in the farming sector suffer the same malevolence of corporate manipulation.
Can this little thing move broken concrete on the job for 12 hours straight on a plus 30 degree day on a 8 hour charge day after day? AND DOES IT STILL USE HYDROLIC FLUID?!?!?!
Make sense for big vehicles. Cars and Truck still have a way to go bring down there price.
Fully electric and fully non user repairable
Love the tech, but let's please think deeper about sustainability. Shoveling emissions to the local power plant is not any greener. Unless of course it's nuclear. Three cheers for nuclear power. We need more of it.
No mention of how long it takes to charge the excavator battery.
Itβs about βtime.β Bravo.
awesome. stationery machines, or those that typically operate in close quarters, could just be plugged in with an extension cord to a standard outlet.
The real question is βDo we have the right to repair?β John Deere is famous for ANTI right to repair. Meaning if your machine broke down, only John Deere can fix it and charge you for it!
John Deere is a toxic company which should be broken up for their direct anti-consumer and outright disregard for repair-ability. They are directly responsible for one of, if not the largest percentage in food price inflation. Every time you see a price hike on produce, remember it's John Deere's lobbying against farmers and consumers causing your wallet to shrink.
These are really awesome adventures ,that can go really far wow
This is just the beginning of the electric revolution!
93 million gallons of fertilizer less likely to go into our water.
Go John!
Can't wait to see the hydraulics go bye bye, with more electric actuators.
every construction site across America will be charging their "green" EV machines with a diesel generator since most all construction sites don't have permanent power… all this green BS is so annoying.
Is it really emission free though?
I see what you did there & I TOTALLY dig it! βοΈπ π
