  1. Oh well…. I was really hoping for a Windows Surface computer, but for this price and lack of performance I think I'll give Lenovo Yoga a try.

  2. Nice work

  3. Try a brydge keyboard for sp 8

  4. My problem is that when I need to use it on my lap, sometimes it slide over and when I grab hold the keyboard, it dislodges from the keyboard… And I am force to use it as a tablet when I need to work standing up, which Windows itself is a very crappy tablet OS. I got Pro 7 and now a Pro 8 from my job, but I never used it much because of these reasons.

  5. Meh. Don't want Windows 10, Don't want Windows 11. Too much telemetry, you have to disable all of that with Windows Privacy Dashboard, and block all the web addresses in firewall and at the network router – otherwise you have a bunch of devices wasting network bandwidth, babbling back to microsoft …
The more devices, the more babble.

  6. I love this new device. Great pen. Faster.

But, I left my charger at home. I tried charging through a usb-c charger and that doesn't work anymore like the Pro7. So, you have two usb-c ports now but neither is capable of charging the device. It's picky but I liked it. Or maybe there is a way?

  7. As a desktop user who also has a Surface the biggest downside to the Surface and the reason I still have to keep my desktop is that the Surface can only add 2 external monitors. My 7 yr old Dell PC can run 3 very big ones. With the Surface I'd have to use the small Surface monitor as my 3rd monitor which is a significant downgrade to what I've been using for over 10 years.

  8. I’m not sure why some people take issue with the fact that the keyboard is sold separately. I mean, they do realize that if they were sold together, the price would just add up, right? If you want the keyboard, then just buy it as well – what’s so complicated? Some people might not need it because they already have their own keyboard and mouse.

  9. One should think they work well together – both are Microsoft products. Jaysus. 🤦‍♂️

  10. I'm tired of these same old foggies regurgitating the same ole lines every year when reviewing anything Microsoft. Mentioned nothing of the 120hz screen, how Windows 11 is better for tablet use, how Android apps are coming to the store on the device or how you can finally connect it to eGPUs to turn it into a gaming device. All you wanted to do was talk price…yet when these same reviewers talk Apple device, price is never mentioned even though their stuff cost just as much. I'm glad I stopped watching stuff from this channel years ago…their format is the same as it was then.

  11. Great review. Convinced me to not buy a Surface. I'll buy a new laptop (not a Microsoft brand) that includes a keyboard and can be used with my current pen/stylus. Seriously – how much money does one family or one company need?

  12. surface pro 8 dont have integrated gpu?

  13. its odd how you lot at Cnet have not opened this device up to show us whats inside like the old Cracking open videos

  14. Mac is better

  15. The drawback is the price. Too expensive

  16. Always loved this form factor. So much that I haven’t bought a laptop since more than a year. Waiting for this to be launched in India.

  17. we do not need a w11 tablet:

  18. Gram

  19. I want 😁

  20. No thunderbolt? Is it still 2003?

  21. They need to adopt a magnetic keyboard concept to be able to have a sturdy hinge not relying on your lap

  22. You can use the Surface Pro line exclusively as a tablet with no need for a mechanical keyboard. This is what happens when you let isheeps review a superior product, they always find was to bash it.

  23. Love the surface devices, but the prices are just ridiculous. My Pro 4 at least still came with the keyboard

  24. It may not seem like a big deal, but it’s so refreshing to see tech you tubers holding and using tablets in portrait orientation.

It’s like half the population have never held a rectangular magazine, book or piece of A4 paper before in their life and instinctively turn it around in horizontal landscape.

  25. Come on I think the thunderbolt and 120hz are pretty big increments

  26. Such a cheaply made low material quality device…and they want a small fortune for this…keyboard is crap, the stand is pitiful and really doesn’t work as it has been engineered to do…I can’t understand anyone wanting it. Try one you will see.

  27. A better OS was the surface always needed. And it has it now. The OS still needs improvement to make Surfaces more compelling.

  28. I've lost 2 of those pens. Wont buy this product again!

  29. I have W11 running fine on my surface 3

  30. where is my LTE! common Intel!!! just partner with Qualcomm

  31. They should’ve waited for intel 12th gen coming out in like 2 months

  32. Idk why but only bridget is the one that could bring joy when hosting something, and CNET should stop doing review, you guys suck at it

  33. My dream 2 in 1 that i can't afford. I would really love to use one.

  34. It would be great to see Fedora 34 running on this beautiful machine.

  35. Does it support an external monitor? Need proper dual screen support.

  36. Can it be charged via Type-c with power dilvery adapters?

  37. If windows adapts with M1 chip it would be really cool

  38. Where is the Windows 11 part?

After all these years reviewers still don't understand why it's better to separate purchase of keyword and pen. I cut them slack for version 1 but by now anyone should understand that when you upgrade to a new surface pro or buy other surface product it's nice to not have to buy yet another pen and keyboard saving you money. And it's not like adding keyword and pen to your shopping cart is that big of a deal so there is no convience issue when ordering. When reviewers don't understand that it means they haven't really spent much time with surface products. I use my pen on my surface book and surface go. I'm sure if I wanted I could probably use the old pen when I buy this pro 8 or if I opt for the surface go 3 instead where I don't need a new keyboard either.

  40. $1100. Ahahaha… no.

  41. with this scarf around your neck… you are more of an iPad guy rather than a surface….

  42. Still the advantage of not having the type cover included with the Surface Pro is that (YOU) get to choose the color, the language, and the model (with or without the Slim Pen 2) that (YOU) want or that (YOU) don't want ; so thanks Microsoft for allowing us to choose all this!!

i really think that the apparently obligatory complaint about the keyboard not being included is silly. First, including the keyboard would increase the price. Second, bemoaning the fact that without the keyboard, it's "just a windows tablet" is complaining about versatility, not lack of functionality. You can add a keyboard to the surface pro. You cannot subtract a keyboard from the a standard laptop. Third, some people prefer to use a keyboard in portrait orientation, which the clip on keyboard is not capable of doing. I use a bluetooth keyboard, and a tablet stand, with the SP in portrait mode. My complaint — and i wish others would join me — is that the kickstand does not allow for portrait orientation. That would be SO easy to engineer. Maybe for the SP 9.

  43. Thunderbolt 4 and high refresh rate screen? did that even get mentioned in this review? those are huge additions..

  44. You really did not say much of anything that we don't already know from Microsoft's commercials, sheesh. How about trying to do somewhat of a mini review, you basically covered absolutely NOTHING AT ALL, terrible.

  45. Looking like the guy that is always judging me with their eyes. Sorry just the paranoid in me.

  46. Ok seriously why would you need 5g right now? Maybe in 3 to 5 years…
