By genetically modifying some E. Coli we make a PC glow. Really.

I thought glow sticks were reusable. Yes they were a little weaker coming out of the freezer, but they still worked. Am I wrong?
This is it. This is the peak of the hubris of man.

linus science tips
Ah yes, doing all this incredibly complicated, expensive and impractical (yet very cool) stuff for RGB!!!!!!
This video is sponsored by the CIA! With CIA you can glow in the dark, use code Linus for a free copy of TempleOS!
I like that Linus did the lab work seemingly perfectly, but only when it came time to work with the computer did he start to mess up.
WOW that burn to your sponsor hahaha MINOR DETAILS
I really wonder how it would be to have a biohazard pc cooled with less heatcapacity but higher density quicksilver.
well, as water has aside from hydrogen and helium the highest specific heat capacity it might be better, but i would really be interested in you guys trying silicone oils, alcohol, quicksilver or turpentine for example and show the difference in it. maybe even try supercritical helium at 3 bar or alike. or whatever stuff is in those heatpipes of the aircoolers.
I really wonder how much it would change the properties of a cooling system if you would take more or less viscose fluids and if you can create the ultimate diy watercooling fluid by putting additives in it. Or can you make a top tier list of fluids used for cooling?
yes, science!
That was an impressive summary of DNA transcription, translation, RNA transcriptomics, PCR and genetic engineering
Now imagine if you could apply this tech to make insulin for super, super cheap.
Oh wait
Inb4 Christians call it satanic because they can't be bothered to know that Lucifer just means lightbringer.
Officially showing this to new undergrads in the lab rather than explaining it to them.

Alex: It's gonna spill
Linus: No it's not
>Spills
Lotta molecular biologists in the comment section.
Now I know, I love to hear science lectures inside computer building videos. Make more videos like this plz…
He had a bright idea.
Linus: hey guys quick science lesson but first SELL YOUR SOUL TO THE SNAIL
This is the one video where we see an massive influx of cell bio, mol bio and biotech-based viewers lol
HE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE
Imagine:
Maybe the universe is just a fancy looking glowing liquid think which is trapped in a kind of computer to look awesome and was running now for so long, it grows life in there.
That stuffed animal looks like a tardigrade. Adorable.
I chewed on one of these until it busted all over my face, It burned, rip.
love it. that is so cool.
When i was a kid i put a glow stick in the fire and then was flailing it around while it was piping hot and it exploded in my eye. It was a great lesson.
This is basically the bacteria equivalent of the Matrix
This is the first time I have ever seen this pop up on recs and I love it
TF When you're a biology major and Linus calls Luciferase a "chemical" rather than an enzyme, and holds a tardigrade when talking about a crustacean, and talks about genetic replication. Tbh for someone who isn't a biology major, he did alright.
That is chemoluminescent and not Bio
isnt there a crab that has bloo blood aswell ?
DON"T DROP IT
Perfect reservoir for this, and great camerawork. Absolutely amazing developments. Keep making these videos.
I got glowstick fluid in my eyes once, it wasn't very fun
