Comments

  1. Apple or any encrypted device should allow the previous user to be contacted about the device. If someone stole my phone I would like to know who received it. Phone companies should have a recovery service no cost no reward to the person trying to reactivate it but the phone would be sent to Samsung for verification of the hardware and then sent back to the customer.

  2. 2:48:52 There is clearly no need for a carriage that can travel at more than 20 miles per hour as you would hardly be able to find a horse which could draw it! 20 miles per hour is the maximum speed for travel and nothing will ever change that because horses can't go any faster. Even if you made a carriage which could go faster, it would be wasted for lack of a horse to draw it! Horsefeathers to faster home internet!

  3. The changes to this WAN show does have a little bit of a "good mythical morning" feel. Not bad, but different. Not sure though if I would want that as a regular thing… If I wanted that I would watch the other podcast type shows.

I am just curious to see how this goes in the long run….just don't break what works.

  4. Instead of product recommendations, link back to your product review. "We have reviewed a product in your cart. You may want to see our review before completing your purchase and compare it with similar products."

This doesn't make the product better or worse and leaves it up to the consumer to decide. It only confirms that you have tested the product and have others for comparison.

  5. hey, Linus I lost my memory can I have some?

  6. 2:18:13 I think Linus and Luke's stance here is pretty bulletproof. If your financial situation is bad enough that $10 is too high of a barrier to entry and spending it would put greater financial stress on you, then you should save your money for things like food, rent, or other things that have more direct benefit. $10 to them is great, but not a lot in the grand scheme, but it is a lot to you. Work hard for your money and spend it wisely.

    – From someone who wanted a $5 gift card to appreciating a hard truth

  7. Did someone make the censor bleeps longer? I feel like they are cutting off more audio than intended.

  8. make a chat gpt bot that corrects misconceptions for you in the comments. problem solved.

  9. Hey Luke, one comment about the third-party Twitter thing could have been due to the "recent reduction in staff", consolidation of the user experience by eliminating third party apps helps streamline the troubleshooting process should any issues arise. This would be to ensure the best Twitter experience possible given the current circumstances. Makes it seem like a "good guy Twitter" stance while not entirely dismissing the dumpster fire haha.

  10. Honestly, if I wasn't in a position where I could have you buffoons on in the background while I work in my home office all day, I don't think I would watch 3.5 hour wan show episodes. As it is, It usually takes me a couple days to make it through to the end. If I had to cut into my free time to sit through them, I would probably do other stuff.

  11. Didn't expect linus to spend a solid 30 minutes ripping into Asmongold this episode

  12. My take on the AI stuff… If an artist's work is used to train an AI, that artist deserves a cut of whatever is made using that model. Its like people who make mixes on soundcloud or whatever. If youre taking a snippet from another artist's song and chopping it up and using it in your mix, they deserve a cut.

  13. I’m excited about the NAS investment. I’m embarrassed to say I bought a Synology NAS and didn’t have the tech skills to get it up and running.

  14. The thing about the screwdriver: They sell it for what they honestly feel is fair, and it is an LTT branded screwdriver THEY BUILT FROM SCRATCH LITERALLY. They didn't just throw their logo on a screwdriver like basically everyone else would do. They are transparent of the mother company offering similar performance for less… but it is NOT as personal or prefered as theirs, period. BUy it or not, it is a free market. But don't even for a second act as if they didn't do this right or price it fairly. Keep in mind also, the production costs are WAYYY higher for their product than competing products. Side note, I own an LTT screwdriver and it is fantastic, I used it almost daily to tinker with computers or my rc cars or around the house.

  15. Guess the fiend react content did hurt some feelings :D. But totally understand why, creating good original content is really hard.

  16. Omg you got the Twitter thing so wrong. They want to sell the blue checkmark that prioritizes your tweets against non-blues. And third party apps might charge themselves or get rid of that, much like duckduckgo does with Google search results. So that is why. You monetize your platform and third party apps works against your income. A company has to turn a profit. And they won't comment since that would ruin what is left of the blue checkmarks imago.

  17. 2:13:00

Can a solution be a way to contact the previous owner of the device?

  18. Linus talking about the food synthesizer right after I finished watching all of the Orville was kinda cool 😎

The idea of a box that can basically atomic print things would lead to the dissolution of modernity as we know it and launch a new age.

If you can just pump energy into a box, push a button, and it can create ANYTHING, then life's basic needs all become met and the idea of working a normal job for currency breaks

  19. What you need for something like your devils advocate segment is something like a chess clock where you each have a set amount of time, and when the other person starts talking you hit your button to start their clock. then once they are out of time, the person with time left is free to make their points until they finish/run out of time themselves

  20. Wheel of boring
