A follow up: Belkin reached out to explain the results we saw with their cable: "Our coax design is that pins 2 5 8 11 and 17 are connected to a common ground shield to create a shield loop – so it would fail a continuity test – but it doesn’t mean that the cable fails. The reason Belkin chose this design is because it creates a shield loop to protect it from interference."
Do something like this with USB cables pls
I think you should test those special silver HDMI cables, forged by elves in moonlight.
I still don't get what the point of HDMI w/ Ethernet is. When as far as I can tell nothing uses it?
So awhile ago my original Xbox series X cord broke, so what I wanna know is can I just plug in any hdmi I have laying around? Or do I really need to go spend 40-50 dollars on a 48gbps cable? My tv and Xbox say 4K@120hz is supported for either cable.
It seems that most cat 6A cables on amazon are unshielded and don't have staggered connectors. A lot of cat 5e being sold as cat 6A.
Awesome 20 minute video with a ton of really good information but I’m really left kind of confused at the end of it all. I really don’t even know what cable to buy after all that. Why didn’t you create a list of brands and length cords in order of best to worst? I’m looking for a 10 ft cable at the moment and you mentioned having a higher percentage of 10 ft failing but didn’t get into specifics as far as which 10 ft was most consistent?
This needs an update with hdmi fiber cables added to the list.
What hdmi 2.1 cable should i got if i need 10 m?
Prof Riley was entertaining
I looked for the file, and it's gone, but a year+ later. I did see you all are planning a 2023 retest. I hope BEFORE Super Bowl tv buying time
I’m bummed to hear about Monoprice. I had amped 30’ runs in my old house with their cables from 2009 and never had any issues. I think the conductors were thick 22ga just running TV signals, but it makes me wonder if manufacturing has gotten worse over time.
i would like to see part 2, where u test all cables around ur office.
14:14 please test audio cables like XLR cables from mogami vs budget cables etc
thanks

No Audioquest!!!??? 🤔
I for one am not surprised that the included Asus RoG cable was bad. The DP cable that came with my RoG monitor like 8 years ago was flaky.
would love you to revisit this with 2.1 and 8k at 60 and 4k @ 120 hz for 30series and 40 cards(amds news cards too since they support 2.1 outputs) in mind plus ps5 and xbox on 4k 120 hz tvs(oleds) for gamers that use their main tvs as their gaming hubs. its hard to find good cables these days and most vids and websites still recommend substandard cables as good for 4k. ive had to return a couple of cables that stated ultra fast and upwards of past 120 hz only to find out they were misleading. a good guild to gamers of pcs and consoles need this type of content
It’s funny all the ones he said have continuity issues are too recommended online to me
Okay so I'm in the rabbit hole of finding a 40-50 foot 2.1 HDMI optical active for my 4k 120hz vrr HDR tv to connect to my 3090, already bought 1 junk cable from Amazon (Fibbr brand) trying another Amazon one soon we need answers!! And testing!!
Man….!.!.!.! I dug out my wall 3 times to get a hdmi cable to work over about 20 feet. Now I want to upgrade to 120hz 4k for my ps5 sessions and I can’t find anything that will work for me
This is kinda video that has real world help for viewers means alot to people like me. These company's are marketing old cables as 2.1 seems like and not puting in bigger wires in longer run cables
What hdmi cable to you suggest? Can you send the link? Best relation quality/price
I really wish you had gotten a larger sample size of 10ft and 15ft cables to test.
Does anyone know if the brand name cables tested were certified? I always bought monoprice certified cables and I wonder if they test okay. I thought all certified cables were tested therefore they get the seal of approval
This was very educational and I never knew the inportance of cable integrity. Thanks LTT!
Test Audioquest HDMI please
eyes narrow…like this 😑 LOL
I'm utterly disinterested in anything resembling snake oil. However I am interested in HDMI cables from Blue Jeans Cable. A quick search of this comment section reveals that many others have requested this as well. If you don't include them in a video then please have LTT Labs test them.
Would’ve liked if you talked more about the category 3 HDMIs 48GBPS with Ethernet. Like if they’re actually better than regular 2.1 HDMI, like the one that comes with the PS5 or Xbox. Also wanted to know about the brand GE (General Electric). Very popular out here.
5:10 Sounds like Peter R. De Vries.
Even a year later, PLEASE review AudioQuest their Cinnamon and Carbon HDMI cables are simply THE BEST!
Now that anker is blacklisted, can you do the same for usb c cables?
Audioquest
Spends thousands-ish dollars on HDMI cables WHILE ppl are starving. You sir can do so much better with your income
