Got me wondering. Do I have big ears?
If i use iphone i go with airpods. If i use android i go with xm4. But if i want the best i go with xm4, if i want the most comfortable i go with airpods.
Beware the "metal ping" sound in the WF-1000XM4s. Research it before pulling the trigger on buying a pair. I got sucked into the $100 off deal thats going on right now. I feel like I got fooled by Sony, even though I just went for a typical holiday deal.
While listening to music, Does the Sony sound just as good on iOS as they would on a google phone? I noticed you said the calls were better on the google phone with sony and weren’t very good with iOS and Sony. Just want to make sure its not the same for both. And only call quality is the difference. I mostly listen to music so i don’t want to lose any quality in the Sonys because i have an apple phone. Thank you for your help.
Who changes tips for the xm4?
They are made out of material that molds to the shape of your ear. Just squeeze the xm4 tips prior to putting them in
Sony 1000mx is just crap, after mx3 I blacklist all Sony product.
Excellent review, we actually have both and I think of them exactly the same way. The sound quality on the Sony earbuds is just outstanding, but the comfort isn't the best. If they were more comfortable I would 100% choose them over the Airpods, but for the moment it is a tie for me.

Sony is king…i change many mobile but i never got such sound qyality in other mobile which sony gave me….in india sony stopped to sell mobile still i search sony for special sound n image n camera quality
Avoid the Sony WF1000XM4 earbuds, many people are having major problems with the right earbud's battery. It's not unusual for the battery life to be less than an hour. My warranty ended shortly before this problem started.
Don't buy the Sony's. Battery life down about 1 hour after 13mo… I purchased a pair of Sony WF XM fours basically the day they came out. I've used them religiously for the past 13 months. I noticed the left earbud which remained in the case longer than the right earbud on most days, was only giving me an hour or so of playback within the last month. I was disappointed but the idea of replacing one earbud was not the end of the world, as my right earbud was still giving me around 5 hours of playback. Within the last week my right earbud has now also gone down to a little over an hour. I don't know about you but headphones that only last an hour or so are basically useless. Ultimately Sony says I'm out of luck since there is only a 12-month warranty and I can pay for new ones or pay to get them repaired. Sony being the only company that I can find willing to repair the headphones. So I paid $21 a month for one year for the pleasure of these headphones. Unless you want to spend more on your headphones then you do on a 24-hour fitness membership, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Putting memory foam eartips enhanced the ANC of airpods and removing them from the Sony decreased their ANC capability

The software on the WF's is atrociously buggy, really makes me want to stomp them to pieces on the street quite often lol – great sound quality but i'd say DO NOT BUY, they're trash compared to the glory of the sony WH series

I’m an apple guy, I love the features and ease of use of the airpod pro, but I never use them because I hate the way they sound, mid heavy I would say.
OMG! Thank you! I am experiencing the same painful attempts to enjoy the Sony ear buds. Thanks to you, I have searched up the buds for the XM-3 (my 3rd attempt to find narrower tips for the XM-4) on Amazon and judging by the picture, I think these will be significantly narrower than the previous attempts. I was actually planning to saw off the tips of the Sony ear pods and graft on the small tips from an Apple Air Pod Pro, which fit my ears fine.
Android so so far underrates ease and convenience. Apple products just work more frustration free, and i just wish android products could figure it out!!

My recent earbuds are Sony WF-1000XM4. The previous ones were Airpods Pro. Sony WF-1000XM4 has much better sound quality and ANC. And, its smartphone App's are highly functional.
The Sonys sound very muddy after listening to the AirPods. Unfortunately the AirPods irritate my ears. I love music and the AirPods were by far better at audio quality. The Sony is a bit muddy and bass heavy. If you want boom boom boom. Go with the Sony. If you like vocals and audio accuracy go with the AirPods.
how do you re-pair with your iphone using these airpods? I clicked on forget this device from the list of bluetooth devices and now I cannot reconnect; I do not know how to do that
