Could you chart this in 2 dimensions? Price on X axis, 1% lows vs avg could be represented using vertical bars, performance on Y axis. It would be interesting to see cost to performance ratio. Representing data as a big list of specs on the left is not too easy to digest – most people just care about price.
What does it do to windows audio latency? Will it reduce the latency while working with digital audio workstations?

What timings were you using on the 7800? I can't get mine to boot up at that speed. At best I'm getting 7400 and bearly stable. I have 13900k, rog z690g.

Repeat the test with AMD Radeon 780M mobile graphics. I'm sure high frequencies will give the greatest efficiency there.

Does speed matter? Question should also be does DDR5 even matter? Such a stupid waste of resources everytime there's a new version and people can't reuse existing ddr4 ram stock on new builds.

TL;DR – Spend money on a faster GPU/CPU rather than on faster memory
I’m so glad you made this video. I’m upgrading to AM5 and I ended up buying 32gb of DDR5 7200Mhz for about $300 but it also included a 2TB M.2 drive so I thought that was worth it cause I needed the extra storage anyway. Even though I won’t be able to hit 7200mhz I still got a pretty good deal. Just keep it at 6400mhz and I’m good to go

I bypassed all the trouble and time with an Intel CPU and non-xmp DDR4-3200 CL12 build. Inexpensive, fast and stable. I don't need nose bleed fps when it's over my ability to discern a difference.

ddr5 can be tuned to better latency then ddr4. you get better bandwidth and latency with a day's effort. no reason for ddr4 to exist today. ddr5 is so good, it makes even 5800x3d looks redundant. LTT should consider a new video on a maxed out ddr5 gaming pc
how about animation and professional workloads? would you guy do a video a that possibly(photoshop and blender type applications)?
when I was playing modded fallout 4 and having trouble running the boston area, overclocking my ram by like 300 gave me a surreal fps boost
Lmao I'm watching this after geforce experience bricked my 3070… I had it do a clean driver install and it made my pc restart. It will only show the post splash screen. Windows only shows a black screen, but you can still interact with windows because I was able to open applications through muscle memory and play audio through them.
Should do this video again when the 4090ti and the Titan come out. Those gpus would give a better sense since they would love the higher speeds
10 years later and we are still discussing about ram speed. Life lesson, a fast car is a slow car unless the driver is compatible.

Yeah, non of you are going to notice. Go for the cheapest and call it a day. Unless you are some kind of FPS junkie it makes little difference.
DDR5 5600 is the best value right now.
Why are all tests at 1080p? Does ram version, timings and transfer speeds matter even less when it comes to high res gaming?
