Such an economy would be the blast furnace for said advancement. A development that would require patrol ships with Stars and Stripes, protecting freedom and democracy with the addition of new territories.

The goal of this system is to carry people to Mars but at it's current state still requires rigorous tests to be safe enough to use. This could take years, Elon needs to be patient and set realistic time lines

The more I think about it, the more I realize how important the plans to colonize mars are.
We will probably never colonize mars, but that technology is going to be super important to our survival on Earth someday.

I doubt it's possible to go to Mars with our present technology. It's his R & D network that could possibly develop completely new and unheard of systems that will make it so.
