  1. getting a used ryzen 5 3600 and a used b450 board is a great path.

  2. "Very occasional."

    So. . . extremely sometimes?

It's interesting. We have often/frequent, and we have occasional, both of which are used regularly; however, no one likes to use the word rare. We want a word that means "not quite as often as the word occasionally suggests, but more frequently than rare."

In the absence of this word, we just throw in the word very as a buffer, a way to kind of jerry-rig a softening or reducing of the word occasional.

Well, we have a word that kind of works: Seldom. The problem is that most of us cannot naturally intuit if the word seldom is an adjective or an adverb, e.g., "It seldom happens? or seldomly happens? Is seldomly even a word?"
So I think we kind of just dismiss it as unwieldy.
Tip: Seldom is an adverb, meaning it can describe a verb, aka action word. "He seldom stopped by."

    Sel's Grammar Tips.

  3. I have a i7 2600k + RTX 2060, a i7 4790k + GTX 1080 TI, an i9 9900k + RTX 3080 TI, and a 13900KS + RTX 4090. Those 4 rigs all handle windows well, I’m always surprised how long the older stuff can keep up

  4. my xeon at 2.8ghz still works with gtx 1070 no problem 90 percent of games are getting 60+fps and that xeon is not highend its nehalem processor generation from 2009/2010 😀

  5. hm

  6. today 5600g @ 139euro is the deal to get

  7. I've been seeing 5600g's going for like $109 on amazon over the past few months. Might be worth.

  8. AND now oems are locking cpus to your motherboard so you can't even reuse the CPU either.

  9. I had to upgrade my 4690K as it couldn't handle Borderlands 3. 4790K possibly could have though with the extra threads. Upgraded to a 5700x

  10. x99 from aliexpress are dirt cheap just go for 5 star sellers with good reviews

  11. I still run a 2600. It is still a respectable chip, especially for multi-threaded tasks like video editing (which is why I chose it in the first place). My only goal now is to upgrade from the stock cooler and get over 4 GHz out of it just for giggles.

However, even though I have a B450 (one thing to note is that my board is still PCI 3) and could upgrade to a newer Ryzen, I don't think I will. By the next time I need or want to upgrade, Ryzen 5000 would already be quite outdated. My goal is to squeeze every bit of life out of this 2600. My last system (A8-7600 and R9 380X) was from 2014 and lasted me all the way until 2020, so I am looking at around 2025-2026 for my next upgrade, and who knows what the market will look like then.

  12. I don't know, maybe it's just sings of agin wine… hic, but you know it after it's too late at 10 to 15fps in your mobile game. The best thing we are plagued, because we do in 9.2.5, by bad QA components wearing down looking good and not showing up. To simply put must inspect smoky dyno run it ourself or it will be considerations how many for each person – you are our eyes and ears. Overwolf and unseen media – that's what we meant grabbing that box by it's skirt, downloading addons we now encourage to avoid as a bad habit.

  13. Im quite happy at 1080p maxed without AA with my b450 mobo, r5 3600x and rx580 8gb, next step will likely be a 1440p monitor and a 6600xt or 6700xt.

I have never felt unsliggishness on my laptop

  14. I just bought an E5 1650-3 for $23 that runs amazing!

  15. Yes.

  16. Just upgraded from a i5 3570k (which was still an absolute) to a 3700x and the difference is noticeable but not as ridiculous as I maybe anticipated. Really worth it for modern features like m.2 and ddr4 though

  17. How about buying an old CPU to upgrade your old computer instead of building a whole new setup?

From 2015, still at 4770k, upgraded to 1660s and 32gb ram, all works good, love it <3

  18. 2:51 this is a most beautiful sentence (ratchet static overclock)

X99 Huanan boards from ebay or ali works amazing for lga 2011-3

  19. 9 months later ryzen 5500 under 100 dollars

  20. What about 10k gaming 🤔 y mean extreme

  21. Say hello to x79 boards using old parts.

  22. fun fact linus one of my relatives has an i7 860 4 cores up to 3.8 GHz and it can run windows 10 smooth whithout any issue.

  23. I Have an i3 10105F at 3.70 GHz, bought it at Amazon for 88€

Please do an Intel 12th gen PC build guide. I'd like to know what motherboard,RAM, PSU, etc, to buy for performance per dollar. * Also I'm looking to overclock so include a aftermarket cooler and tutorial please.

  24. if someone watching this in late 2022, in june amd release bios for B350 series and some of A320 for it to make it compatible with Ryzen 5000 series. e.g MSI 350M Bazooka that I use, is now equiped with 5600X

  25. just picked up a 4770k for 40.00 🙂 time to swap out the 4590

I just watched this and knowing 2600 is counted as the best used cpu makes me so happy. I just got it a few weeks ago at $72 and yes it's a really good deal:)
But I saw ryzen 5 4500 has higher benchmark results than 2600 on some comparison websites, and it costs around $100 for brand new in my place. So is ryzen 5 4500 actually a better deal?

  26. Currently rocking an i5 4590 & r7 260x combo in a HP system, the i5 is an absolute beast for what it is and being held back by the gpu. Soon upgrading to an i7 4770 for free and going to pick up a second hand 1660 super, and a b85 motherboard. Going to get everything else new and should only cost around ~450 Aussie dollars (300ish usd) all up for a great budget gaming rig.

  27. Damn, I refuse to stop loving i5-2500k! It's still a great quad core.. even though its age! I've probably built 30 pc's with i5-2500k, gtx 1060, 2x 4gb of RAM.. sold them ahead for a profit too! I know it's old as hell but I still love the chip! Can't help it!

  28. Just get a i3 10100 ($70) and MSI B560M Pro ($85) and G.SKILLS 2x16GB DDR4 3600Mhz RAM ($55)
Total Cost- $210 Some People will also have some spare DDR4 RAM.

  29. my 2600 non k is still going ok. It's the bottleneck buts still perfectly capable to support the 1660super at 1080p.

  30. Hello,
    Would a 10940x may create a cpu bottleneck to a 3090?

  31. Funny thing is a lot of these modern YouTubers will downgrade these old builds.

  32. Funny, upgraded from the 4790k @ 4.8 to a 5600x @ 4.825 in February 2022 and got 20% more perf in Sandstorm. Unreal engine optimization?

  33. also this sounds like a problem with the pci express speeds

  34. Zen and Zen+ is trash so the minimum option is a Zen2 cpu from amd.

  35. linus in my country prices are double but used components are all below msrp like my 3060 ti that i got for 250 dollars and i7 9700 k for 100 dollars

  36. Re: Haswell; Oh yeah, my old 5820K machine felt great even in 2020, when I finally replaced it with my current Zen 2 machine

  37. Lmao my x5675 ocd to 4.6ghz actually does better than my friends ryzen 2600 in some games

  38. I bought a new B560M pro off amazon for $70
