Only real reason why I dont have an Iphone is the USB-C. Its just so much faster on other phones to charge up. Like 15/30 mins max full charge.

Yes it would be nice to have all usb C BUT this is blown out of all proportions for the average person – has nobody heard of attachable adapters and you still need another cable for more than one device and if you have an Apple watch you need a puck. I got one of those Apple dual chargers for iphone & watch – its rubbish as its slow and phone got very hot charging! So sorry but no iPhones on usb c is not the ‘promised land’ tech reviewers seen to claim!
Surprise… Apple has already started with their stupid, I mean silly idea. They are now putting a certification chip in every iPhone (already announced). Only an Apple certified charger can then charge an iPhone, even if they all have USB C ports. All that inconvenience for millions of people simply because they are so greedy. 😞

probably never going to buy an iphone with no port unless they bring back the headphone jack, I never tried syncing my iPhone with wifi, but as of now I am planning to stock up on lightning to headphone jack just in case they stop selling them in 3-4 years time

I told Apple two years ago I would never upgrade my iPhone again until they went USB-C. I still upgraded, but I’m happy they are finally coming around. Even my nose/ear hair trimmer device charges by USB-C nowadays. It’s time.
I actually thought they would go portless. MagSafe is great and only Apple CarPlay needing to be plugged in on some of my vehicles would be a downside.
What if it MagSafe charging port instead of the usb-c charging port. 😂😂😂😂
I adopted a Samsung Z Fold 4 as my work device and an iPhone X for a personal device. The functionality of the Fold showed me how far behind iOs has been since the first device came out. Wireless charging for my headphones and Samsung watch straight on the device, the ability to run multiple apps at once, the notification center not sucking, these are all things that have been overlooked by Apple for years. Until I can wirelessly charge my Airpods on my phone, among other features I'm holding out on, the improved camera means nothing to me. Apple has lost their competitive edge since they started making bank.
This is great news for the consumer & the electronics industry.
As a life-long electronics tech & gadgeteer, who has very low vision, I have unintentionally destroyed a slew of USB cable ends & sockets.
The cables are not a big loss, as they can be re-designed for other connections.
When those cheap, glued-inn sockets detach & end up in the case or the contacts are damaged, you had better have a unit that can be charged wirelessly.
You can try to glue it back in place, solder & glue a new one in, or say goodbye to another electronic device.

I wonder what would happen if apple decided that only the european iphones would be just usb c but all non european iphones would be magsafe only or maybe the cheapest iphone models would be magsafe only and than the pro models would lightning only and to get usb c, you would have to get the european models since usb c iphones only were mentioned in europe, the u.s. model iphones are not required to use usb c like they did with the e-sim only with the iPhone 14 models in the u.s. Basically if apple wanted to make if someone wants an iphone with usb c, you have to buy the european iphones and they decided to stick with magsafe only for the regular iphone models and the pro models stick with lightning only. By the time it's 2024, only all the european iphones models would get usb c and non european iphones would get magsafe only. I would not be surprised if this were to happen since apple pulled the e-sim trick with the u.s. only iphone 14 models but they could do the same if they wanted to by going portless with magsafe only for non european iphone models since the european iphones models are the only phones that are being enforced. Apple would still be making money on magsafe accessories like they currently do with lightning accessories but magsafe would be a replacement for lightning since apple licenses magsafe like they do with lightning accessories.
iPad has already made the switch its about time – USB-C is better anyways – iPhones can finally see fast charging on par with Android phones amongst other upgrades.
It’s just because Europe has decided to force phone makers to have a us bc plug. Apple knows that they can’t do without the European market.

A bigger camera bump will again cause an issue when laying down in the wireless charger in your car. Docking stations are Lightning and 30-pin.
Well still awaits drop my songs into the iphone file manager without sync in via itunes. Well usb c is i plus as I don’t need lighting on my x while have usb C on the beats bud😅

When I saw iphone and USB-C in the title, I had to towel myself off.
To Apple's credit, the lightning connector was released before USB-C. The concept of plugging your phone without having to check the orientation of the connector is great LOL However, Apple did introduce USB-C on the 2015 macbook. Why they were slow to adopt it to the ipad and hopefully the iphone 15? Probably hubris. Among other things.
I figured this change would come to the iPhone after the EU mandate. I will upgrade my old iPhone to the 15, if they have it.
Idk,the way these YouTubers talk about charging via USB-C you’d think that wireless charging didn’t exist 🤷♂️ I can’t remember the last time I plugged my iPhone in to charge.
