1G Ethernet really ruins it. Most $500 motherboards can afford at least 2.5G.
Interesting with a Z8 G5 with only one (1) processor socket instead of the usual two sockets. All images i have seen have two processor sockets, no mentions of a one socket model. Lot´s of other differences compared to the official images if one look closely, such as "only" one power supply instead of the two LTT got, different MB layout, etc. Did LTT got a prototype?

I should mention that Intel posted a picture internally showing 8 DIMMs and a passive CPU cooler asking us if we could identify it (just for fun on the internal news), and thanks to me being able to watch this video just a few hours after the photo was posted, I confidently said: "It definitely is the HP Z8 Fury G5 with the Xeon w9-3495X!" and even got quoted in the response post! So I should thank you for posting this video at such a fortuitous time! My brief moment of fame on Intel's internal news 🤣

I'm so use to seeing the guts of a consumer grade HPs which always look like they were just slapped together without any thought that its shocking to see a well thought out workstation when it comes to cooling and accessibility to the important bits.

7950x out here getting ~38k in R23 on 16 cores, and the Threadripper and Epyc chips going over 70k… Intel is still definitely lagging behind in terms of raw CPU compute per socket, but it's good to see them start to get back into the race!
you could try 16k resolution gaming again with this thing (or more)
