5:17 I dont know if apple had already figure out how to fill the gap of the current 13 inch pro, but im hopping for apple on m3 or m4 gen, would scrap the 13 inch pro design and just put the base 14 inch with the basic M chip.

News flash : the transiting to, and new M2 chip are in no way connected to each other. If it was, that's a pretty darn long time people have to WAIT until they can even upgrade. lol

The ecosystem is the worst part of Apple. They live in a bubble and enjoy both significant perks and significant downsides of being in one. The malicious software downgrades in the background on older devices and their refusal to switch to USB-C as well as their horrors in regards to repair/e-waste will deter me. Their pro-consumer facade of notifying data harvesting of others while they harvest your data is just as bad too.
Imagine Apple being German. M2 would be even more efficient…
they're releasing this shit too fast. let the M1 have some time. just devalues what's not even had a chance to be used to its potential.
can't can't use half my software and plug ins on M1 yet, now they bring M2, software companies are just gonna forever be playing catch up, with nothing ever becoming fully usable.

Apple great for graphic work … but shite for us home users. I really love the release of M1 rendering our Mac useless. Can't update anything. Just like when they moved to Intel many years ago. Honest question: given what you said on 3:05 and that baseline models come at a lughable 8GB of RAM and 256GB of memory, what is the min RAM that you would recommend to really use the new chip's capabilities? Does it even matter?
It's a shame the M2 mbp seems to have dropped the ball so badly.

Not a big deal in terms of technology advancements. They claim 1.4x performance, best case scenario, 5p process, not a step up in density but on power, and 25% more CPU area., so it sounds like a tick, at least on base M2. Let's see what they will do next year with M2 pro max and ultra
