So which assistant do YOU think will be the first to go, or last the longest? …I have my own theory but I want to hear yours.
If you're language is not English, the outcome might be different.
Like most in the comments:
"Home Assistant !" making Paul Hibberts signature dance
I think Apple strongest suit is it’s more reliable and seemless in terms of integration. Shortcuts are so good for automation if you know how to use them (kinda not intuitive). However, Apple weakest area is the assistant itself, Siri. I’ll be trying to integrate her with ChatGPT as I own mainly Apple products otherwise I’ll just have a hybrid model with Google Assistant and even add Alexa seeing how cheap their products are ( I just found them 40% discount this week).
I can't believe your SIRI just caused my Google Display to enter "Self Destruct" Mode lol!
I love the videos where you have them fighting 😂
I think the Amazon echos are just way too versatile for the average consumer for now.
“Yes, my displays are top class, the competition can kiss my …” 😆😆
Siri doesn't support shortcuts?
I can’t wait to see chat gpt implemented in a voice assistant of some sort. My Google home devices have become frustratingly difficult to talk to due to their lack of ability to understand context half the time, and constant errors when it asks me if I want to know more information about something, but then doesn’t give me more when I say yes.
So is there an open source thing like home assistant that can do all of the things that we like about these products and maybe then some? and how easy is it? I have dozens of Raspbery pi. Everyone seems to have something. Integration and customization should be a goal. The configuration can be the separation. Some are not technical. Some want awesome aesthetics. All the GUI… just skins in my opinion. A facade. If we can integrate and reconfigure? what if you could use an api to integrate an Alexa device and it's feedback was the input to the system and it was just programmed to not repeat the by the way part. it's microphones don't have a need to store data. it hears, but only repeats to the integrated api that it was told to. We could ask it to ask google or siri or alexi or whatever the name of your favorite ai software… each individually or have a comparison. So many possibilities. Who else is doing that?
But which one is best with Home Assistant? Oh the Home Assistant! Oh the…
4:02 That stutter lag on the screen, it's disgusting and no where near snappy.
Siri can't do nothing
Alexa won't stop trying to sell me something
Google does it all
Hi I'm just starting out with Home Assistant and smart devices. I currently have an Alexa to which I've linked said devices through their individual skills. My question is, is it better to link all devices to Alexa through Home Assistant or to use their individual skills and group them inside Alexa?
We have an Echo Dot in every room – acquired gradually during great sales. They're so convenient, but the "by the way" makes me crazy. So many times I've wished I could turn off the "by the way" mode. Just answer my question, without all the back chat, please!
For those who don't want an 'Assistant' listening in your home, I'm with you. Soooooooooooooo, think hard and long, plan out and create automatic automations for as much as possible, then use the button on the TV streaming device that works with your assistant to ask your assistant to do whatever you want. I use Android TV with Chromecast with Google Home and it works terrific. No corporate listening in your home, but you do retain smart assistant functionality when you want it. Hey Reid, how about a video overviewing how to do just that?
Google is the only decent one…
Amazon is my choice. Thanks for the comparison.
I'm still so disappointed the Google took away variable text in your commands
Go back to Tim Apple
Google wins.
The first one who collaborate with ChatGPT 6:00
that was a fun video, thankyou very much
I mainly run Google. But have a few Echo's around the home as I have a Ring doorbell. Google is who I hope wins though
Thanks, you made my clock self destruct…
Homepod has intercom to specific rooms
👌
You can do custom commands with Siri and HomePods using Siri Shortcuts
Is it possible to use Google integrations with Home Assistant to get a duo call to work like a drop in works on Alex, I would love to see a video on this, I also think it would tip towards Google.
I've been trying to stick with Apple, but my kids room has two fairy light strings and a galaxy lamp that work with Alexa/Google. I've added Google Home to my iPhone and her tablet so we can make schedules and turn them on/off when we want to.
She could also use a home assistant with a screen as a clock/music player. I'll probably get one the next time they go on sale.
Custom voice commands on HomePods are possible. Create a scene and name it whatever custom command you want to say.
Home Assistant into HomeKit is the move if you have an iPhone. Home is built into your phone so it makes a great dashboard. I like HomePods because control is local but Siri is a total idiot tbh. Good enough to turn on lights but Google Assistant worked way better. I have a light bar and Google turned it on/off no problem. For some reason Siri has no idea what that is and just turns everything on. It works on my phone tho, which has a newer chip for Siri. That’s one of the downfalls of having your processing locally I guess.
Great video editing on this one. I loved the assistant banter.
Lol. Thanks Reed.
Why does Siri always outsmart the other two? IT'S NOT FAIR (powting face, powting face).
I think they’ll all survive. They’re like car companies, the differences will become less noticeable, but people like options. It’s annoying they each have their own niche in my opinion. I want all three for different reasons, but would really prefer just one assistant that can do it all.
Wait your nest hub mini 2nd gen is fast and snappy? Mine is lagging all the time! What would be the difference
Siri is the only one that isn’t a shill or a snitch, so Siri is my bae.
Great editing bro!
I’ll take the one with a screen over the one without a screen , every time.
Thanks for not being bias. I know you're pro Apple ecosystem. My home is mainly Amazon with one Google Assistant device which I kept before switching over to Amazon speakers/smart displays.
Google all the way!
This is so old…you seriously need new scripts
I truly wish that Apple would step up its efforts to improve its smart home/smart assistant/artificial intelligence profile. As a large company with voluminous resources, it sure feels like they're squandering a huge opportunity. If–in fact–they are working on something, they need to talk about it more.
Hands down Siri! Bit pricier to get setup but you get what you pay for
Apple and Homebridge is a match made in heaven!
Mycroft is the best…
I love that the selling point for siri is "speaking at a normal volume"
