Comments

  1. Wait for the side effects

  2. Very U.S.A of solving problems, maybe they should start with adding more green energy public transport and reduce personal car dependency instead this is the solution to make some people feel good about themselves

  3. I've been buying Tyson stock every paycheck since they bought Upside.

  4. I am so glad it is finally here. This will become a solution for many major problems in the current system of meat production. It is for the greater good and can't wait to see this go mainstream.

By the way, I can't help but mention some of the "kind and loving" human beings in the comment section who just strictly want their meat from good old peaceful and ecofriendly way of producing meat. They are such a gems for our future.

I want to try it , I feel guilty when eating animals

  5. Soylent green, er red ๐Ÿ˜Š

  6. Wow! A real life replicator.. the very first replicator! 50-60 years from now this will be in everyones homes like microwaves and they will be much faster! I hope I am alive to see it just to get the chance to say โ€œTea, Earl Gray, Hot!โ€

  7. Nahhh. Iโ€™m good

  8. This is neat and all,

But whatโ€™s gonna happen to the animals once this starts snowballing? ๐Ÿ˜…

Are we just gonna be kept as pets or just they all just be killed or what????

Im very and generally curious about thisโ€”

(i just feel like were cutting whatever-threads we still have with our ancestors, like this feels.. wrong but its good for the environment! So.. Im just confused tbh ๐Ÿ˜“)

  9. Thanks for the really cool video CNET! This sounds like a promising solution – however long it takes for this tech to get cheaper and the masses to approve of this

  10. This is BS, The Methane from cow farts, dissapates within 10 Days.. Proven by CSIRO Australia.. And? If cows diddent convert grass into fertilizer? You wouldn't have your Organic Vegan Food.. Just like Vegan leather, your Fertilizer would be Chemicals..

  11. Scientific name is carcinogenic tumor that's what you will eat

I will not live in the pod, I will not eat the bugs, I will not drink the cockroach milk and I will NOT eat the printed meat

  12. At that point Iโ€™d just quit eating meat altogether.

  13. I'm vegetarian, but would consider eating this. it takes ethics out of the equation because there is no slaughter taking place, and minimal harm being caused to the animal, as they explained the animals are sedated when the stem cells are extracted

  14. Cultured meat for the poor and the normal cows for the rich sounds like a sci-fi movie

  15. I've seen something about studies indicating increased cancer risk from lab grown meat. Also don't want meat mixed with plant unless its a 100% real beef burger with lettuce, onion, and tomato.

  16. SCOP

  17. I prefer the way God intended.actual animal meat is more nutritious

  18. 3D printed scrambled eggs next?

  19. Looks yummy. I can't wait to try one for myself.

  20. This isn't the Future

  21. This all looks interesting, and will likely be a bigger part of the future in some way (like for people who want meat, but without harming/harvesting actual animals). But a serious question here not addressed…

Q: *What, say, will be the cost per pound?… (Affordability?)

No doubt the lab produced meat currently is relatively quite expensive while still being in developement (so what $/lb is it?)… but maybe forecasted to later be (less) $/lb in so many years in the future, just like most other products being mass produced.

  22. No. And no amount of marketing or propaganda will work.

  23. Can we culture halal human meat?.. Just throwing a spanner in the works ๐Ÿ˜‚

    Iโ€™m good

  24. April fools?

  25. Fake food … ๐Ÿคฎ

  26. Is this an April fools video? Is this real?

  27. This is absolutely disgusting. No.

  28. This meat is looking so delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

  29. Iโ€™m gonna go for a drive in my exploding fire hazard electric suv and go the drive through and get me a lab grown Frankenstein burger ๐ŸŽ‰ the future looks dimmer and dimmer ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

  30. What kind of wacko new world order kinda BS is this.

So how can we use this to replace a human arm or leg?

  31. Funny how they didn't show what they fed this cultured meat so it could grow. This is most likely because most of these companies use blood of animals in some form like (FBS) or fetal bovine serum to grow their lab grown meats as none of them know how to replicate blood which you need to grow an animal.

  32. April fools or just fools

  33. Lab meat still poses environmental concerns. For example the disposal of waste products from the production

  34. Using this as a replacement for "animal cruelty" aka killing animals for your own survival. You know, the natural order of things. I can see that as a recipe for disaster if we stop killing animals for food completely.

Eventually the animals are going to outnumber humans. You think the ecosystem has its problems now, wait until then. But hey, as long as you can solve the short term problem for your own selves and not the long term problem, more power to you …

  35. Who loves Star Trek here? How do you think they produce the food on ships? Is there a fecking chicken coop deck? A cattle floor? A pig pen level? We are so precious about what we consume, yet we've been putting ALL sorts into our maws all this time. Seriously – I 've had meat for 45 yrs, but living with the knowledge that beings are bred and slaughtered just for my satisfaction is becoming crazy. Can you imagine? If we were bred and killed like that? How many souls have we ameliorated – its the greatest genocide ever perpetrated. Maybe karmically THIS is why we have cancer and diseases. Its been a slow burn but I need to change – if killing anything animal or human is OK, at our level of awareness and technology/intelligence, we REALLY need to take a HARD look at ourselves. Please do more shows like this – it provokes introspection and hopefully adoption.
