Hey! We got this one out on time! AMD already introduced their fancy 3D V-Cache tech to their Zen 4 series of Ryzen processors with the 7900X3D and the 7950X3D, but this is the one that everyone is waiting for. The follow-up to their so-good-its-a-problem-for-AMD 5800X3D. Can AMD bottle lightning twice? Can they take down the mighty 13900K, the king of Intel Core processors? …Something is making me think that Intel might be developing a fear of thunder…

Comments

  1. I think the reason the 7900X3D performed so badly with dual CCD in Factorio, is because game mode probably didn't kick in for the benchmark. And as such the CPU probably didn't recognize it as a game, which would have parked the non v-cache CCD.

If i buy a cpu at this price point i really dont give a F about 20$ PER YEAR!
if this these 20 bucks are the reason for you to decide to amd you should really question yourself about your financial situation.

  2. 13900k is faster. Sorry you don't know much about PC's.

  3. Ltt using Paulo Coelho quotes, bravo!

  4. If i have this motherboard:
GIGABYTE X570S AORUS MASTER, will it support the 7800x3d?
since i have the 5800x currently, and thought of upgrading it to the 5800x3d and now thinking to perhaps go for 7800x3d
    thanks for the help 🙂

  5. I bought first time in 20 years AMD, 7800x with full price and I will he were make that mistake again. This product is so bad that after 6 months is 50% off. I was scammed by AMD. Never again.

  6. Wow I didn't realise the 7900X3D barely outperforms a 5800X3D. I wonder if they updated to the latest chipset drivers and bios which apparently has improved the scheduling on dual CCD cpus.

  7. LTT promoting "The Blue Whale Challenge" ?

  8. Yeah, just watch as the 5800X3D leaves it in the dust just like AMD's other chips.

  9. Hello, is it possible the background music volume be lowered a little, it's just a little distracting. Thank you for listening!

  10. Praise the whale

  11. factorio W

  12. What a beast

  13. the charts keep getting worse please make them better to read 🙁

  14. Good chips but it's obvious AMD is no longer the underdog and their Intel is showing now.

  15. im gonna build an AMD system with AMD ryzen 7700 with AMD radeon 7700

  16. Should be adding DCS to the game list. This is what im interested in instead of FPS games

  17. excellent review. loved all the charts. Can you guys start adding .1% lows so we can see overall user experience/stutter? Thank you!

  18. I'm running the 5800X3D with a 4090 @4K and I'm very happy with it! Definitely going to let me get a few more years out of my AM4 setup!

  19. Still didn't test MS Flight Sim…

  20. The offensive parts are the locked multiplier and the lower boost clock. Yeah, it's quick. Now let's see what that could do at 5.7Ghz.

  21. In laptops, this whole reduced-power-consumption-per-processing means a 40W TDP from an X3D model can mean more or less 70W TDP from an X model.

  22. He really did one of my favourite authors, Paulo "Coheelo," like that.

  23. great! now I am even more confused than before, and why you havent included the non x version of AMD 7000 series in the benchmark, could have been a great added values

  24. As a Brazilian seeing Paulo Coelho being mentioned on a LTT video made me smile

  25. Chary Daymillino does the giving the Dancing video for the Tict-Tolk.

  26. How do i buy one

  27. with all due respect that PCPP list for the 5800X3D at 12:13 is nothing short of atrocious. I have a 5800X3D and struggle to cool it with a peerless assasin which is a dual tower cooler with 2 additional heatpipes also from Thermalright. And you guys think the Assassin X will suffice? On Top of that the list contains a Gen4 GPU and NVMe but the B550 Gaming Gen3 literally does not have any PCIe 4.0 Support! it's in the name! Especially the P5 Plus is a waste of money in that regard. And the gaming community slowly agrees that 16GB is no longer the sweetspot in 2023, it should have been 32GB

  28. I still don't understand why no one includes Microsoft Flight Simulator in the benchmarks. It has a massive following, it's one of the most hardware intensive titles especially for CPU's, yet it's left out of all the main stream reviews in place of games that could run on a mild fart

  29. Oh he's mad at amd … What a change

Interesting segment comparing the cost to run over a year then 5 years. I feel like if you couldn't afford the $150 (for 13600k) cost over 5 years then maybe having a PC isn't for you. Nobody on this planet would budget their cpu power cost.

  30. Looks like 13600k is still an excellent choice for people who don't wanna spend $400+ on a CPU.

  31. I know the gaming performance is good of ryzen.
But on development softwares like unity, unreal, blender, even normal windows update aren't good.

There's so many bugs caused on my ryzen processor pc.

  32. No. The i9 with tuned DDR5 is faster still. Learn to overclock

  33. Specs aside, that thing looks awesome. Too bad it needs a cooler.

  34. Intel COPE i9

7950X is the Winner (Overall) if you repeat the tests with only 1 CCD enabled. The performance boost in some games is so recognizable that it basically catches up to the X3D Variant.

  35. This $1450 PC for a usual person, that works at office, can be enough to run office programs for more than a decade. I mean this is a excellent cost/bennefits…

  36. Jesus now i have to buy the cpu before it cost more than the 9 for my next rig in 4 years…

didn't there used to be compilation benchmarks included ? where are the compilation benchmark ?

  37. Anyone who was buying those uber expensive parts and didn't think AMD was going to release the 7800X3D only has themselves to blame. They should have known better.

  38. Gamers Nexus charts are way easier to read – your video editors should check them out sometime for ideas 👍🏼

  39. I will wait for intel 14000 series and AMD 8000 series cpu's. Am also waiting for nvdia 5000, amd 8000 cards and who knows what's happening with intel GPU's. my 9700k/3080Ti will be ok til then.

  40. This guy is definition of favor of day, I remember him saying Intel right and left. I have AMD Ryzen 7950X3D just saying.

  41. best cpu for gaming and streaming at the same time? one pc…. ????

  42. Wolf in sheep's clothing. You've been Intel favoured from the get go. Of course they'd release their flagship chips first. For content creators (who are also gamers), the Ryzen 9 chips are perfect. If a gamer can't wait 3 months for the 7800x3d, that's their own issue. I think everyone was waiting for this chip. You should be relishing in this gift to gamers.

  43. Wait did they changed the title. When this video was released I saw 'AMD is deceiving you'

  44. Personally, I think Intel is better in 4K obviously not an all games but when you go to the big AAA titles that matter from all the videos, I’ve watched through all the different channels and I’ve watched a lot it seems to me the Intel beats AMD when it comes to those 4K AAA titles the ones that matter just my personal opinion. I think Intel’s every bit as good as AMD I’m not bad mouthing AMD.
I just think you can get more with Intel and Nvidia. If you want the best, sometimes you gotta quit crying about the price and just pay for the best.
