Awesome Tips The electric skateboard that moves like a snowboard (Summerboard review)

The Summerboard SBX is unlike any other electric skateboard. It has two motorized caster wheels underneath that allow you to shred the streets as if you were snowboarding. CNETโ€™s Logan Moy spent a few weeks learning to ride so he could figure out who the Summerboard is for.

  1. Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any questions about Summerboard.

  2. The price is hard to justify, but dang it looks fun!

  3. So is this worth it if I have a Onewheel GT?

  4. If you are thinking about buying this to commute….
…. Just buy a used car from 2004-2006. It will likely be cheaper and last longer than this overpriced, Chinese made, knockoff board.

  5. Trainer sounds like Napoleon ๐Ÿงจ๐Ÿ˜‚

Freebord is your affordable option. They run on gravity so never need charged. No controller so your hands are always free. Light weight…And the foot hooks are included! All for around $300! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. So… a freebord with eletric motor powered caster wheels…

  7. That looks really really fun let's get the price under 800 and it will sell like crazy!

  8. It's like a snowboard with training wheels.

  9. wow its expensive

  10. You should drop this reviewโ€ฆ The product is a dud! Many complaints after a short time riding! Buyer beware!

  11. Got the Phantom Electric Skateboard. Would love to try one of these. Looks the Business.๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿป

  12. oh heck yeah. I hope this thing is sick.. here we go

  13. Electric Freboard

  14. โ€œonly $1600โ€ thatโ€™s a down payment for a car

  15. I just learned summerboard and it is really fun. I think the key to learning it is to ride it like a ripstik, balancing on the center wheels. Once you get used to that, the other skills like turning and sliding become much easier. Itโ€™s expensive but if you want an electric snowboard that you can ride anywhere, this is it. If you want a lower cost version , check out freebord which rides similarly but has no motor so you need to ride it downhill.

  16. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

  17. omg this is something i want to try at some point in my life… i do some snowboarding during winter times and have some skateboarding experience and this looks fun AF

  19. I'm deciding between a OneWheel and this.

  20. Just saw two guys riding summerboards today around my neighborhood and it seemed like they were having a blast! If the board could get to the point where the skateboard wheels and trucks are no longer needed, it would look badass.

  21. $1600 lol

  22. Itโ€™s like a electric rip stick

  23. Asoon as you said 1600 $ I clicked out the vid so fast

  24. Cool but over priced imo. For $800-900 i would get one and try it out

  25. I was exited to buy this but WOW THAT PRICE ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Looks fun but damn that price :/

  26. I was hoping to see someone actually carving smooth, arcing turns. I saw plenty of stiff-legged, slightly sketchy scarving. They were sort of just hanging on for the ride. I want to be able to compress my legs and DRIVE the board into the turns then get weightless in between them. There's no power transmitted down through the legs into the edge, or wheels, and far less control when scarving.

On the other hand well executed carved turns engage the whole body in the turn. There's not much flow state with scarving, at least from my experience. Then again who am I to say what's fun. If someone likes to twirl and drift around slideways, more power to them.

  27. Man, when I was 16 we had something just like this that was just powered by gravity

  28. Iโ€™m struggling to pick a next board. This is definitely moved to first place. Making my choice a lot easier

  29. Yeah my Onewheel GT will smoke that thing even if it taps at 23mph ๐Ÿคฃ

  30. For posers that can't ride a real skateboard. ๐Ÿคฃ

  31. Iโ€™m surprised you didnโ€™t wear wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads. Iโ€™m not sure if traveling at those high speeds on concrete with shorts, a t-shirt, and no protection on your knees, wrists, and elbows is brave or stupid or a little or both.

  32. Props for not editing out your mishap.

  33. 27 mph beats the OneWheel by 7 mph

  34. Roomba robot mod?

  35. People need to beware of the build quality, battery came DOA, been waiting 10 months and counting for a replacement, support just non-existent, constant delay tactics, won't refund either. If you want a board that actually rides, stay clear of this one.

  36. Cool novel idea…but in terms of daily use I probably wouldn't make use of those turns/spins.

Electric skateboard falls (even at moderate speeds) HURT! So adding another element that will increase the chances of you hitting the pavement don't sound appealing.

But that's just my take. Stylistically I could see others picking it up for the tricks.

  37. just getting used to it if you have some skill and common sense you'll be ๐Ÿ‘

  38. I friggin love this

  39. Hard to take this review too seriously considering its sponsored by the creator of the product.
