Hey, thanks for an amazing video on my extension!

I wanted to clarify a couple of your concerns.

1. What's in it for me?
First of all – it's extremely cool to make something that over a million people use. It looks very nice on my resume (I've already been contacted by a few of VERY interesting companies). So this alone justifies the efforts that I've put into this extension. A month ago nobody knew about me, and today Linus Tech Tips releases an entire video dedicated to my pet-project. I think it's worth not watching youtube videos for a month.

2. Regarding "sketchy" sponsors – I've googled every one of them, and didn't find anything negative. The VPN that you mentioned exists for 10 years, has over a million Google Play installs and a score of 4.8 – so I thought it's good enough to be a sponsor. If anything negative came to my attention – I would terminate relations immediately.

3. Regarding extension users data.
Every user sees exactly what is being sent to the server, and since this data is anonymised – I do not believe that it's sellable. We do not access YouTubeGoogle account name or email used with the account. We create a random anonymous ID – and that is the only user identifier that we store.

I am actually quite happy that the dislike button is gone (all though it still exist in YouTube studio). While that button is harmless, there are some people who feels miserable and horrible from receiving dislikes, like as they spend many hours to make a very good video and they get dislike which cause them to break apart or lose faith to continue or whatever.
Also mass dislike wars by trollers was common back then.

It's official. Youtube are scammer sympathizers. They patched the extension. Judging what our CEO looks like that doesn't surprise me.

Google removes the dislike to force you to watch the video whether the video is good or bad.
They don't want you to know the video quality by other's opinion, they just want you to waste your time on YouTube.
This really makes me angry.🤬🤬🤬

I wish we'd get back the old youtube back. Theres comments that people make that will get like 20 likes and the empowers to feel they're right but I'm willing to bet if the dislikes were visible on comments again you'd see all those dislikes. I dont care if you cant see dislikes no more on comments I still dislike comments I dont like.

Thank you for making this. This decision single handedly ruined this platform. It took something that could have contributed to human advancement and evolution and nerfed it into the ground, to the point where one could make a strong argument that it now does the opposite. It wastes enormous amounts of people's time, who are forced to sift through loads of garbage to find videos that are of passable quality and useful to them personally. So, so frustrating.

This seems calculated. Seems like it was removed on purpose to help with agenda pushing. YouTube simply removes videos they don’t like BUT when there are videos WE the people don’t like we can’t even “dislike” it as a group. We can’t do anything about it. It quite literally divides us. So now we YouTubers can no longer collectively agree on disliking a video? We have no way of agreeing when something sucks? But when YouTube doesn’t like what we do they can just delete the video and ban us? This is actually quite disturbing.
