anyone here knows what thickness do you need for the pads and where to get them? and any brand recommendations?
you ever wonder why there are so many videos on "macbook" fixes? Cus it's a product made to have problems. I have a couple imac's for years that have zero issues, which is why apple dont even update imac that often. it's not "profitable" if you know what i mean.
I dont know about the "good" engineering. They purposely made macbooks highly breakable and needing service that cannot be easily performed on your own. I tried it once and tore battery connector flex cable. Literally the essential first and most important step of fixing macbook.

I just got one second hand, this is the first thing I did for it after making sure it worked.
Your temperature calculations are completely wrong, first you have to convert both values to Kelvin, then calculate the difference. after doing so you can convert back to Celsius. Physics 1o1
1:40 there are no air channels at least not on my machine m1 I sandwiched my logicboard between thermal pads so my keyboard also gets hotter and its quite nice tbh during winter. 2:45 there is even no gaps there basically they could have even make this laptop macbook air water tight.

Did anyone try to remove the black sticker from the heatsink and black sticker from the back cover along with this mod? Wondering if it would make a difference.

6:34 48 – 56, there are like places in the world where youd be at maximum pain just having the sand on your feet. Let alone cities with artificially high temperatures.
if you add thermal pads the bottom plate will get hot and the heat will get to the battery and shorten its life span by alot. if you want your battery to last many years don’t do this mod.
Use a neutronium heavy metal pad?
This is where those “laptop stand coolers“actually would make a difference
wouldn't it cause the battery to warm up? batteries heating up… don't like the sound of it.
Potentially, all you would have to do is add a dbrand skin and then you are not contacting the aluminum case directly. Would that increase limit to 70C/75C (TME/ITE)? You could even add a thin later of insulation under the hotspots between the case and the dbrand skin, since the case is basically being used as a heatsink.
Now put it on a laptop fan base :')
Hold on…..your math to get 54.5 Celsius only applies to your room because you keep it at 20 degrees Celsius. Any room above 20 Celsius would put the heat over the 55 degrees Celsius.
I have a question…..you said for around $30 anyone can do this. Why is 2 tiny pieces of thermal pads around $30?. That's just insane because on eBay you can find the exact same thing for $1 or less.
