Varjo XR-3 is double the price of a Vision Pro. Apple seems like a bargain for an enterprise/developer product. At least Varjo has enterprise customers like car design shopws and pilot training stuff for their VR/AR/XR headsets. Google Glass was an enterprise product till just a month ago, when it was finally killed off.
Groups will always form at LANparties. One thing we once did was to randomise the seating plan, so rather than being able to reserve a seat, and thus sit in a pre-made group, we forced everyone to be randomly allocated in blocks of 2. (Blocks of 2 so that you could at least have one known person/friend next to you for comfort, while your other neighbour would be a stranger.) Despite some grumbling ahead of the event, our guests went along with the concept and "Fragcity 18 – The Quest For The Lost Seatplan" turned out great!

The recent changes made by Twitch follow a process which has been named "enshittification" by journalist Cory Doctorow. He wrote an article about TikTok but Twitch is quickly following suit. The interesting part of his article is the last stage of this process which is the death of the service lol and Twitch is definitely on that road

Damn I do not want to work for Linus. I would not want one really sucky project to be something that I, or a co-worker, would be canned or demoted for. If anything you give someone a second chance with more oversight. I love the content here, I love Linus's Charisma, I would love to meet Linus, but every time he opens his mouth about a business decision I cringe. I am very glad he's stepping down as CEO! Also very glad he's not leaving LMG.
I can understand SOME of Linus fruatrations. I mean, unless you are technically illiterate or you werent aware that the video was for a specific cpu there isnt a good excuse for NOT questioning that. If you know you're meant to be testing X cpu and you see it's Y cpu then SPEAK UP. If you KNOW there is a fundimental issue, bring light to it. It sounds like there may also be a fundemental communication issue between teams/people thats caused this, i cannot believe that the team would KNOW they were supposed to be using X cpu and just didnt care it wasnt that cpu. Maybe there understanding of the task was to test A cpu and they had no basic idea what the video was supposed to be about other than that. Why not speak to that entire team and FIND where that particular issue has come from.
Update: I made that comment before finishing the video. Linus has went on to say similar. Communication.
