8:40 This was the right call by AMD. The 3D V-Cache announcement would have leaked GUARANTEED had they pre-briefed the press. The only way they could insure surprise was by keeping everyone in the dark. It sucks, but that's just the way it goes in the modern "everything leaks" world. 🤷♂️

Indeed a charismatic delay and an overheated portable video card, I have never seen so many bad reactions on a laptop as invention adition, Sweat and heat will already do its thing.

I remember the dark times, when AMD only had the am3+ socket as is higher tier of cpu's, turning every computer into a microwave. The restless apu in their fm2+ trying to hold desperately from the bloody onslaught of Intel's i3, 5 and 7's.
And then, when all seems lost, like the riders of Rohan coming to the aid of Gondor to save the last kingdom of men of the darkness devouring everything in it's path, i saw it: imposing, hardened, fearless, majestic. The Ryzen family on the brand new Am4 socket. The shy Apu's of the fm4 family riding side by side with the unexperienced but valiant Ryzen 1000, charging with blood in their eyes and thirst for revenge, thirst for glory and honour upon the pc community.
When Intel thought it could catch a break, came the threadrippers, then the 2000 series, and the 3000, the 4000, the 5000. Some say the beating is still going. AMD is safe for now, for they have not only survived. But triumphed.

AMD had managed to outsmart Intel all the time, especially with their pioneering AMD-64 instruction set that defeated Intel in its own game. However, Intel's Core architecture was a very substantial answer to AMD's capabilities.
Haven’t used AMD since Athlon XP days, but this week, I’ve just switched to a Ryzen 5950X with an RTX 3080 FE graphics card. My goodness, this thing flies. Great work AMD.
Still won’t use AMD graphics because RTX OptiX slays in Blender. That’s the next area AMD needs to focus on. There’s more to GPU performance than just games.
