There is NO security issue for apple if people pay for apps and subscriptions off-site at other co's website. That argument by apple is 100% pure BS.
Bridget is hot.
So there is still only one place to obtain Apple apps. I'm sure glad I'm not getting screwed by them.
If you don't like how Apple runs THEIR BUSINESS, then don't buy it! Stop ruining it for people who want Apple's security of a 'walled garden'. I am SO TIRED of hearing about how governments are forcing businesses to do things that aren't designed for their business models. If you are for this kind of government 'imminent domain' of businesses, then MOVE to a socialist/communist country! Same goes for apps! If you don't like Twitter or Facebook or if you fear about China's influence on TikTok, then don't buy or use their apps! Let capitalism weed out these things!
I enjoy the walled garden ecosystem because of its security and fantastic integration. I'm not a legal expert by any means, but it seems to me that $3T companies don't lose many legal battles.
That is so weird……
Apple is correct on the security not allowing foreign apps. It sounds out of time but in reality it what keeping all my biometrics and personal data safe. Imagine the number of people who would sue apple over a breach in personal info. Apple then couldn’t blame the courts or the spyware malware app. Its almost like someone wants to knock them off their high horse. Everything else like owning the rights to a basic apple. No apple.
Yep. Keep buying those iphone
I am really done with this company. They don’t like to play well with anybody. On top of that, they are so petty. Ex. USB-C. The products don’t work well with anything outside of the ecosystem. To pretend that this is for security or privacy is just doo doo. Great Video Bridget. Thanks.
She said WhatsApp chat 🤣😂
My favorite
Great for more videos ❤😊
Apple is no longer an American company. Why do they get to use American law?
I'm feeling frustrated now to sync Altstore to my pc just to keep my side loaded apps working..
We need sideloading on iOS..
Apple is the new Disney thinking they own things that belong to humanity
"One more legal thing" 😂
We want to put our game on your platform but not pay you any money, I agree with apple charging for the right to be on iOS, (30% on transactions ) but you can’t stop people buying it from them directly on there own websites though a link on the app) should just change it to a monthly or yearly contract fee then .
Apple is a leach – don't trust them at all. Great article that clearly isn't being bullied into towing the apple media line.
What's the I.P. argument…We the Apple corporation created the very apples as well as the pictures of them so it belongs to us. How and why this hasn't been laughed out of every court on Earth is astounding?
Bridget widget humorous news always makes me happy.. 👍☺️
Apple, orange, pear, kumquat, I’ll listen to any fruit Bridget talks about.
Disheer
Does this bird only criticise Apple ? With a quick scroll it looks like it, genuine ask and i also noticed she stopped at the list of companies right as Samsung came up 🤔
Is there someone else at CNET who reviews Samsung?
I hate Apple… yup, they are smart at business, and make great hardware…. but I can still hate the business practices.
Thanks Bridget 🙂 from widgets to apples…. you never stop to amuse while bringing us all the tech news ^^
BAD APPLE 🍎
This is the best episode of SNL I've ever seen.
GTA LCS and GTA VCS want App Store!
Sony Xperia 1 V already has a textured back glass panel, so for Apple to get a patent is pointless
No company or individual should be allowed to own the rights to the image or name of an everyday common item like an apple or anything else. That needs to be stopped completely. It’s like the people that make candy crush saga trademarking the words “candy” and “saga”. That should be invalidated.

If they force companies like Microsoft to allow the uninstall preinstalled apps and software, then goodbye Microsoft edge. Thank god.
With how SCOTUS is corrupt, they will overturn the ruling.
Apple literally deserves to keep this inside the app store. Theyre the ones that have done the back breaking work to build the app store and the physical devices. If you want Side loading and downloading outside of the app store piss off to android.
better to not give dumb europeans iphones. they use an inferior whatsapp to communicate. just buy android.
Always great to watch the gorgeous Bridget Carey on CNet, her humorous & detailed presentations are brilliant & incisive. I think Apple will get around the side loading of apps from android etc as they wouldn’t want their security compromised & could probably make a good case for no side loading unless there were some sort of malicious software check while performing the side loading.
Imagine someone battling you for how you control the things you made 😅
Hoping to see Elon vs Zuck, not in cage but in court
I would
