EPYC can be firmware locked to motherboards, something that you need to be aware of when buying used. Dell/HP do a lot of this.
you know what. i like those little sheet metal io plates over those stupid shrouds modern mobos come with.
Uber noob question: Why do content creators store their own content on their own servers when they are accessible via YouTube/Google? Serious question, grateful for an answer.
Great price on that Noctua screwdriver. 😀
Well MOLEX to Sata loose all your data)
All that work on the 12VHP cable, and it's changed again because of the melting…
My Cooler Master HAP has six 6 1/2" drive bays accessible from the side panel, with trays you mount the drives to, but they slide in and have lock down levers and no pesky screws. Then in the front it has six more 6 1/2" bays, that can hold anything with a case, like CD/DVD drives media bays and whatever else they make for them. For storage drives they have trays too, and those slide in and out but and have quick lock/release front panels, and all six can have hot swap panels (came with one that covers 2 drives) mounted to them. That's a total of 12 6 1/2 bays, and with off the shelf 1 X 6 1/2" to 2X 2 1/2" converters it can technically hold 24 drives!🥳
actually I do have a serve rack at my house lol not as nice as yours but I have one non the less lol
Someone get Linus a lazy Susan to build on, so he doesn't risk a lot of tech with his little noodle arms.
A 25mil Youtubestar wont pay more than 8k for a NAS? WOW…..
Should be using 2 NVME slots for L2ARC… smh my head it's literally in the sticky post on Trunas's newbie forum…
This channel is adictive like heroin🤣
Col Team LTT And Good Video !!!!
mark rober will forever be a legend. he somehow broke the algorithm with mininal amount of videos the exact opposite what youtube says is better for you to have more…….
These aren't nearly over-engineered enough to be on brand for Mark.😆
Never heard of him.
Bro, I just built a NAS with 20TB. I was so proud of how much space it has, and then you release this.
If you head over to the TrueNAS forums asking about the most perfomant setup, you will be beaten over the head with the "setup your drives in mirrors" stick.
There is a good article as to why as well.
They will also beat you over the head if you dare suggest using a zraid setup for performance 😂
I don't know why, but the deep fried "REAL SHIT" absolutely sent me and had me laughing for a good couple of minutes 😂😂😂
My personal Dell R710 and R720 running TrueNAS on thumb drives looking at Luke and his comments 👀🫡 @18:56
Day 23 of asking for a pc🖥
11:23 well actually that’s quite common in new houses at least in Germany 😅
Jake looks like he lost weight.
Naples, Milan and Rome? for a moment i thought you were discussing about Serie A
If video cards have been occupying several PCI slots for several years, maybe motherboard manufacturers could adapt and produce motherboards where PCI slots are not unnecessarily "hidden" under video cards?

10:04 thats a cheap screwdriver!
Hey Linus I’m living in a dorm where I can’t do really anything with the given internet connection so I would love to have something like an DAS System, but I don’t really know anything about it or what kind of Systems are good. Could you do a list or review about some systems :D?
they don't tell us the most important thing how to sinc the machines , using tailscale
I don't know him
Ok, I love Mark, but he didn't "solve" shit regarding porch pirates. No product. No service. No solution.
So many hard drives need a lot of cooling too, I am still rocking a NZXT Whisper and I had 9 HDDs and they were dying like flies.
No I am using SSDs and HDDs but I dont stack them anymore
Trusting the guy who lost his data twice due to the same configuration error is an… interesting move.
Nice. A bit similar to my NAS, though I am using cheaper hardware, like a i3-10100 with 40 GB RAM. The case is a Fractal Design Define R5 which can house 19 drives, though another 3 would probably be doable. The R5 saves a little space and has more space between the drives. Then there's a HBA card to access those drives.
22:00: I would have used just 1 parity drive only because there are 2 servers which are in sync. If I only had one, then 2 parity drives would be the option.
doesn't want to waste his money yet purchased assrock
🙂
1:41 Did we just witness the rare case of LTT using stock footage?
cant each one of those mini sas ports on the raid card connect to a backplane (32 hdds per port)
How about Platform Secure Boot, which bricks AMD processors if the processors is put on another motherboard (it doesn't need to be from different brand, different SKUs from same manufacturer may not be able to use secured CPU)
4:24 – 4:26, perfect addition for a ltt no context video
i have no idea who Mark Rober is.
Oh hi Mark.
You did noooooooot….
Thanks for the free shipping.
Saved $120au during yesterday's Wan show
Awesome 👌 👏 👍
I just LOVE content like this!!! Clever choice in hardware parts. Great deal on that EPYC cpu!
10:06 Noctua coloured screwdriver costs 0 dollars?? Very cool of you to just give them away Linus
