Make sure to comment on Paul's video why Hue are the best bulbs ever. 😏
We decided to just make a decision and then be consistent. Echo dots, hue lights, ultrloq locks, and ring doorbell. So far we are really pleased with the consistency and ease of use
nice but I seek appless life
595k views and 6.9k up votes. sounds like a philips rep to me
I really love not being able to turn on my phillips hue with a light switch regardless of "power on behavior'. it's really nice that I always have to use my phone and not a switch. (s)
Hibbert has such a negative bias against Hue that it pretty much clouds everything he says regarding smart bulbs.
hue is expensive but if you need the extra features they are 100% worth it.
Love my hue! Been using them for 5 years. My first bulb just died. Kinda sad.
I like the old style Echo Dot because it's small also Newest.Technology, gives out decent sound and doesn't take up a lot of shelf space if you want to put it on beam in the workshop or shed.
I wish this was cheaper.
I've been using Philips Hue since about 2014 and love it. Never had any issues with it. My only complaint, if it's a complaint, is I wish the saturation of colour were richer. The newer Hue bulbs are a vast improvement but they still could be more vibrant…especially the purple and green.
for me it’s definitely the convenience. they work 100% of the time. i have some from nanoleaf and that is a huge headache.
How relevant in 2022? I'm seeing a lot less ZigBee devices coming to the market
If you like Dynamic Scenes and Sync and the ease of use to get them the extra money is worth it I have spent too much with other brands and getting them to play well is soooo annoying.
I just bought in to the Hue ecosystem after buying a ton of the cheaper bulbs. The Hue bridge and software just work. I am sick of troubleshooting all these other cheap bulbs and their cheaper software that normally doesn't work (looking at you cync)….I am very happy with my purchase, even though it it MUCH more expensive…
All I need is a warm white bull running on thread that costs the same as hue’s but nobody else makes them yet. All the smart bulbs they make these days are colored bulbs. I don’t need colored bulbs for my porch, drive or garage
This Planet is doomed when it´s "prime species" thinks they need a fancy
backlighting behind their telly and everything else. Can you all please
stop with this bs? This overcrowded place has not the resources for
your totaly pointless hobby activities. I am so done with humanity. You
all know that we are shoveling our own graves. This madness has to
STOP!…….please?
There are many features in Hue which are also available in the much cheaper Wiz.
Hey man, great rundown, thank you! Does anyone on here have an opinion about going Lutron switches v Hue bulbs for a whole-house system? I’ve had Hue bulbs for years but I don’T always find them completely reliable and I’m building a new home next year so now’s the time to make a change if I’m ever going to make one. Also any thoughts from Savant or Control4 people out there? I’m exploring all the options while I have a chance, thanks in advance!
Just here to comment on your Mr. Robot background.
Well done.
sync, exclusively for hue sync
Hey, you do know that most people who buy other zigbee bulbs like tuya, gledopto, tradfri etc, still use philips hue to control them right? In this video you concentrated on the power of the hue app. You can have your cake and eat it though by buying cheap bulb’s and using them in hue ecosystem.
There are problems with Hue. They turn on randomly even if you turn it off sevral times.
Just annoying as you want somthing to do what you tell it.
You can do cheaper than Hue. But it’s difficult to do better than Hue. I started with Cree and some others, but over time Hue has taken over. It’s smart, it’s easy, it interoperates effortlessly, it’s well-supported.
How far is the range of the Hue bridge? Is it fine to have the bridge behind a big wall and 7m away?
I’m switching to all hue gradient light strips (with some hue compatible Ikea bulbs) they are so bright.
How often do you have a power outage?
the lamp where did u get it? i need it
Yes it's great, don't be foolish
Not worth it a year later either.
i suspect the Mr Paul Hibbert, uses his dislike of HUE as click bate these days
You making this video, shows just how effective his posture is…..
one possible reason for Apple first… HUE was First an Apple store product,,
before it was released under the Philips name.
With the HUE bridge and all the Lights, button & motion sensors etc….
….. Keep working when the internet goes down,, the beginnings of EDGE Computing
My Hue bulbs don't really light up gradually, but jump directly to 10% and then brighten up. Not really the gradual experience I had with a separate wake-up light. That 10% is relatively bright for night light, too, and it does not seem to go lower than that :(.
Philips hue "still worth it"…
…never had or was !!!
I bought hue when it was released in Australia years ago. However no one has ever really cared for it except me, they can’t be bothered with the app etc. I happily live by myself now rather than a share house, so my whole appt is hue, it looks great when people are over. They love the colours I select. I’ve put out normal switches in most rooms just for visitors. I also try buy on sale, or second hand.
Hue was one of the first platforms I tried. Less that 1 year after my initial purchase the hub went bad. I purchased a second Hue hub and that one died within 1 year also. I then switched ALL of my lighting, sockets and switches over to TP-Link Kasa. 2 years later, everything is still working as new. The Kasa lights are brighter and the app has many automations to use. They they are also a LOT less expensive.
I have some LIFX (with problems), and the rest of my house is all Philips Hue. If you want zero problems, true 16 million colors and amazing app features, like the music sync which is the only one I've seen that makes your house into a "club", go with Philips. This choice comes down to: You get what you pay for. GE lasts 13 years, HUE states 22.8. Another thing to think about.
Philips Hue I personally find are very good , integration is superb – The app design is quality they have thought about so many different scenarios. That said my biggest gripe is with the hub, i've probably got over 80 lights and 20 or so switches, as the hubs can only support 50 devices I have had to buy 2 hubs to balance the devices load. but no matter what ever I try every so oftern the hue switches don't respond, I have no idea what's causing this – it can happen for 30 seconds then be fine. my house wifi coverage is very good so to fix this I either have to wait or power off the hubs then back on. given this is a premium product and retains a premium price it annoys me.
I have 4 Hue Color lights for years and like them, but I use Samsung Smart Things to set up automations, I don't use the Hue app. I do like to control all the lights in a single app.
The only times I was tempted away from Hue for lightbulbs, they didn't work. Wouldn't connect to my WiFi. I have a few non Hue lightstrips and they are just OK, the colour availability is a lot more limited and not as accurate. But they will do for where they are positioned.
I only buy Hue. They are reliable and aren’t hard to sync like the rest
Hue is the best it’s the most quality and features
So glad I found your channel. I just finished a 2 year build on a commercial recording studio. We’re using Philips Hue E26 bulbs in the ceiling and the LED tape lights around the perimeter of the rooms. The problem is that our bulbs are all making a high pitched, constant whistling/ringing sound. The tape lights are quiet. We have NOT installed our dim switches yet, only normal generic wall switches so far. The noise gets louder as I increase brightness on the app. Darker colors barely make any noise at all. Any idea what the issue is? Thank you
I have thousands, and thousands of $$ worth of Phillips hue…and I freakn love them. Plan to keep adding…
