I absolutely agree that this mediatek-powered echo dot (4th generation) is an excellent upgrade. A reasonable price point combined with easily available features results in a really good offer. for customers
Amazon lost a significant chance. The clock should have been standard on all Echos and Dots, and all the colors should have been available. then simply offer folks the choice of whether to switch on the clock. It's a great function, however it stinks that the only color option is the light grey Dot.

The 4th Generation Amazon Echo Dot is definitely a worthy and a huge upgrade from the previous generation Echo Dot. The Amazon Echo Dot newest generation come with new design and major upgrades and enhancements. It also claims better music. The 4th Gen Echo dot looks better than the previous-gen Echo Dot. The setting up is really easy while the addition of Alexa and the mediatek chipset guides us through top notch performance.

I am not impressed with Amazon's new practice of just having one color of power cord, a white cord. All of my Echo devices are the charcoal color, and my two newest devices are not dark. So it really clashes. Not cool.

Does this have "hub" components built in, and if so, am I able to use the 4th generation Echo Dot with smart lights without needing a hub? I do not have a regular echo. I'd like to buy maybe Philips hue.

Echo dots suck! I got two & I absolutely hate them. Once my Amazon music free trial is up, I'm not intending to get a subscription. So then what? I basically will toss them in the garbage!!!
And you cannot run two echo dots at the same time using Bluetooth if you want to play a song on iheart radio app or if you want to play and watch a YouTube vid. If you want to do this you have to get an app & pay a monthly fee to run two echo dot speakers at the same time!!
I like the old style Echo Dot because it's small also Newest.Technology, gives out decent sound and doesn't take up a lot of shelf space if you want to put it on beam in the workshop or shed.

I switched from a 2nd gen to a 4th gen and the audio was just insane 🤯 I honestly thought it would still have no bass like the 2nd gen.

I just got this for my husband as a surprise for his office.. I love the speaker quality that is why I went with the 4th.
Just got my echo dot 4th gen, upgraded from a 3rd gen. I actually prefer the more balanced sound of the echo 3 tbh. When playing music more loudly, the bass isn’t really any better 🤷🏻♂️
