I hate my steamdeck. I rather get the ROG ally. The controls on the steamdeck are just bad. The sticks feel chalky, the trackpad is placed in an annoying position to where the sticks vs button/dpad placement are just awkward. I can't take gaming seriously on it.

Re: hall-effect joystick reliability
I bought the hall effect guilikit controller that was reviewed on this channel a while back (l bought it before the review not because of it), and the controller no longer works anymore after only mild use for a bit over a year. One of the triggers which is also hall effect is completely glitched and registers a constant button press, and the joystick is unreliable sometimes. All this is to say : hall effect sensors can definitely be unreliable even with no moving parts.

I am happy with my $399 deck I just got and upgraded to 2TB for an additional $130. So $530 vs $680 if I got the $549 OLED and upgraded it. I will keep my $150.
After taxes I don’t want to really want to be in a Steam deck $770.
Damn valve really making it hard for me to choose lenovo go or steamdeck oled.
