As someone with a fair amount of audio equipment, I have to say. That audio equipment is WAY more than 10s of thousands of dollars.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, both arguments simply need to compromise!
Linus is right, pointing a lamp at your screen is actually braindead!
However, monitor lamps that light up your desk/keyboard area are actually BiS – they just need to be equipped in the monitor "belt slot" instead of the "helmet slot".
My previous VA monitor has an RGB strip built into the bottom of the screen, pointing straight down at my keyboard, that I simply set to white for functional purposes; yet I'm struggling with my recent upgrade to a 21:9 QD-OLED just because I can't see my desk or pack a bowl while gaming in the dark anymore!!
There's really nothing better than light shining from the last place your eyes will ever directly see! My entire desk is perfectly lit without any glare and my monitor bezels still disappear into the darkness surrounding it.
