Consumer audio reached the endgame(I would argue true for video as well). Companies have less and less to sell us. Don't need a record player, don't need a tape deck, don't need an equalizer, don't need a CD player(yes I know a few people still buy all those things but it's trivial in the grand scheme)…just need at okay speakers and well most modern speakers to put it bluntly are at least okay. So companies have resorted to preying on fools.

"Hyperaudiophilia" can be a serious mental condition. It occurs when an audiophile (hi-fi enthusiast, nothing wrong with that) achieves a level of sound quality that can not be significantly improved, but feels compelled to continue trying to do so at any cost. It's a form of addiction and can cause otherwise intelligent, rational individuals to be taken in by what others clearly see as nonsensical claims related to sham products. Such products tend be extremely expensive and, generally speaking, do nothing at all.

'Burn in' for headphones & speakers & other 'magnetic devices' is not a myth. The combined effects of weakening the magnet & loosening & 'de-stiffening' the membranes' leads to a more relaxed &'focused' sound due to lowering the damping factor & edgy spikey peaks in the natural resonances, & if U don't believe it U should blast a pair of headphones for a few days non stop & then compare it to an identical 'control' pair, & note the differences = very obvious, & exactly what I did also, though it was always a 'known thing'. Of course, a lot of the $cams in audio R criminal fraud, & 2 pretend it is N E thing other than crime, & that the $ellsers should B prosecuted, is an evil thing 2 do. It's not a joke, & U should $ue them & try 2help people learn how 2 criminally charge them 4 the various crimes they do.
