  1. I have gigabit internet, and my xbox series x gets around about 800Mbps when downloading games, thats using a cat6 cable directly from the router to the xbox. I also use my broadband for Xcloud and i have my phone and tablet set to 5Ghz wifi. The only time i get problems is if my phone or tablet decides to go to 2.4Ghz but that only seems to happen when i walk upstairs from downstairs and the devices stay connected to the router downstairs instead of changing to the mesh network upstairs, obviously 5Ghz has less of a range. And i cant force my router to split 5ghz and 2.4 wifi signals (like you can with most routers) which is annoying.

  2. This is good content. Unfortunately I do see people overpay for 1Gb connection just for basic web surfing. They think that they get something more when paying for "faster connection". It is just hard to tell them anything short and polite that would make them understand it and really "downgrade" their speeds.

  3. Don't know if it's just a Sky thing but I have a fiber line all the way up to the house then it switches to plain old copper

  4. my 150 up and down with low latency is plenty enough internet for me and 1 roommate, waiting 30min for a large game download is nothing compared to the 4 hours i used to have to wait for older games with an old DSL connection i was used to growing up

  5. Can you do a video on CGNAT?

  6. Here in Switzerland the ISP which provides an 10Gbps Uplink is way cheaper than the ISP which provodes an 500mbps Uplink. The 10Gbps are 50$ cheaper a month. Thats just insane.

  7. For twelve years now I have a dream of Linus fixing my home internet for me 😂

  8. Lmao 20Mbps isn't fast

  9. There is also one thing missed, the ISP's own uplink/downlink is also shared and its usually planned at 40~50% of the capacity sold. Which means that at peak times if everyone is trying to get their files downloaded you will not get the advertised speed.

  10. At 6:00 you can see someone playing Tool's 2019 album Fear Inoculum on their 1998 CD Player, Tool fans are a special breed.

    Ask me how I know…

  11. Is something unusual going on with the audio compression in this video? Something sounds off to me. Could be my audio setup, but things seem to be vacillating between low and resonent to tinny from one moment to another.

  12. Internet monopoly here is so stupid that I will actually get both faster AND cheaper internet soon as they put fiber in the ground about a month ago.
1 gig up and down for 50 euro's is very reasonable.. more reasonable than then nearly 70 euro's my current ISP charges for 300mbs…
Though it's likely short lived our government is taking no steps to stop this "market competition" (read: Big company buy all competition then raises prices and lowers services) model… yay capitalism..

  13. Downgraded from 1Gbps to 300Mbps couple months ago and the only complaint I have is that ISP uses CGNAT and it's a PIA.

  14. Slow old HDDs are also bottleneck

  15. Orange my ISP here in spain is actually offering a 10gb residential service, but the con there is the router they provide is the same one as the 1gb service that has 4x1gb ethernet ports and a wifi 6 that tops at 2.8gb, so how are you meant to use 10gb service???? granted they only charge 5 euro ontop for the 10gb upgrade so they clearly know its not usable speed.

  16. I didn`t know that 2500mps was to fast

  17. Upload speeds. Offsite backups n such. Nobody wants upload estimates of multiweeks

  18. Meanwhile in Romania: 10Gbps for $10 🙂

  19. I already know my 940/940 fiber connection is overkill for our purposes but I don't care! It's only $80/mo and is nice to have!

  20. >>ISP Provider
    RIP in peace.

  21. why are we back to daily uploads, is everyone okay?

  22. Internet is so expensive in America. 50-90$ for a gigabit a month? I pay 14 euros for full gigabit in my country

  23. My internet is 3 gigs. Just upgraded from 100mbps and cut my bill by 33%. F*** CenturyLink

  24. I'm paying 40$ month for 200mbps…

  25. Idk what it is about Verizon's supplied access point, but I've legitimately hit 120MB/s (960Mbps) down on Steam over WiFi on my gigabit fiber home internet, through drywall and all.

  26. Why come you shave??

  27. Not in Australia 😂😂

  28. I have 300 Mb, it’s just fine and my PS5 and tv are both hardwired with CAT6A

  29. Have 60mps… Run five gaming PCs or Xbox at the same time with no issue plus radio and TV. Never seen a need for fibre.

  30. We live in a world.
Where 20 Ms is idle wait time.

  31. I have 10gbps down at home(Korea) and can pretty much get it. Usually not from one source but being able to game, torrent, download steam updates, etc all the same time without internet maxing out is fantastic. Especially in a multi-person household.

  32. Here in new Zealand the difference between 300/100 and 900/500 can be as low as $5 a month. Happy to pay the extra $5 for much faster downloads.

  33. uuurggggh! their audio keeps getting worse.
    Its all muffled and gross

  34. I hope my i5-13600K doesn't bottleneck my 2 Mb/s wifi

  35. ha. living in a more rural part of germany, i was VERY happy to have the option to speed up my 6 Mbit/s Connection to 60 with a cell connection add-on.

  36. I have two gig that i separate to WiFi and hardwire

  37. ICYDK: Some TVs that do have built in LAN ports sometimes have crap speeds, my LG C1 only has a 10/100 Ethernet port on it, but the wifi speeds are MUCH greater (around 250ish) and some people have had luck using a USB to Ethernet adapter and I've heard reports of upwards od 300-330mbps.

  38. OK so I’m probably living in some sci-fi utopian world because I’m paying like $12 for a gig connection. And yes, Europe.

  39. I didnt know 3g wifi speeds was too fast

  40. Laughs in germanys internet. Its stupidly bad and slow.

  41. BRO HAD TO POST THIS THE SAME NIGHT IM HIGH AS HELL?????
