This might be a blessing for the eyes sharing the screen with another „normal“ screen so the user can choose either reading on ink and watching video on „normal“ etc

The old pebble watch with e-ink display was such a gamechanger for outdoor use I’m honestly surprised its taken this long for companies to make full sized monitors. With continued investment it could be just as good as regular screens. You should compare this screen outside in direct sunlight.

I could see myself using this with a server running a Linux command line for text based input.
Color E-Ink seems promising but perhaps not quite there yet for most use cases.
f.lux and natural light color temps is the real game changer.

not good right now but I'm betting the future will use a lot more e-ink and that's good cause it's not a light source which is arguably better for your sleep
12:25 the main thing a monitor can do that screws with you is pulse with modulation for its brightness, I m sensitive to that crap to an extent that's not normal, I mean the reason I didn't buy a 3d tv back when you could was because I could see the refresh in the glasses.

I'd love to see a review of the Kobo Libra Color, or at least be pointed at a review that discusses the issues with their screen. I'm assuming there are sacrifices that had to be made compared to Kobo's B&W screen…

If the price came down I could see in-person businesses buying these to use for a slideshow advertising sales or new items. Assuming it has lower power consumption and very long life with no risk of burn-in compared to common LCD monitors.

You need to turn off ClearType in Windows… font smoothing is not doing you any favors on E-Ink!
Dude I’m watching this on my iPhone 11 not my tv.
While I absolutely love this technology, the low refresh rate and image retention would irk me so much that it's pretty much unusable. Would love to hear thoughts from someone that actually uses this or a similar display because a normal display doesn't work for them.

lmfaoo these are hundreds of dollars more expensive than my laptop, and it has an rtx 4060
I do documentation and data entry for my job. I would LOVE to have something like this to use at work, but there is no way I am forking that kind of money over and I dont think I could get my boss to do it either.
