  2. Have a basic question to start setup , I liked broadcom ble that it works with no internet .SO if I get echo show 5 and 8 and Mini hub from broadlink, where would write all these automation on Alexa app or broadlink app or both , would this work? and if i go with broadlink i can only use broadlink sensors right ?? is it possible to integrate 2 smart hubs like this and homeassistant or Aqara eco system ?

  3. Lol Indiana J. meeting, you're such a funny dad

  4. Dude where did you find that night stand

  5. Checks message in middle night. ROOM: MORNING BITCH

  6. How do you use the calendar to control the lights? My work schedule is all over the place so it's kinda annoying setting schedules for my alarm lights

  7. Great review!!!!!

  8. I've been watching for a couple days I'm looking to solve an issue with my kids always turning on the lights instead of opening the window blinds during the day lol guess I'll ve ordering alexa and smart blinds

  9. How do you this. 0:22 Wake up shades

  10. All these ideas suck.

  11. thanks a lot for your great idea always. I am a big fans of your channel. Would you give me an idea for how to setup two door locks in a bathroom to work together? That is two smart door locks can be locked and unlocked at the same time by each other. I am using Alexa at my home. Appreciate if you can give me an idea of which products to choose from as well.

You could use a water leak sensor to know if someone is in the shower

  12. Hi. I love your videos. I’ve always been a tech guy but now I’m into smart tech. So cool.

  13. Lol, more solutions looking for problems. I'm old enough to remember when we had problems and then developed the solution.

For lon-off light problem, just could save the state in a simple database. This yt channel have pretty cool ideas, but poor implementations

  17. dude you have so many smart things and expensive things but what about your phone dude you have a small old one !!!

  18. How did you set everything up?

  19. Got to love kids 😂😂 how to make light switches obsolete

  20. Thanks for you video.Automation is amazing, We focus on Smart Sensor Alarms, They can work independent or control by smart phone .We hoping to provide safety protection for more people, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, Door Sensor, motion sensor, etc.A small item may be able to help many families stay away from disasters.

  21. Ahhh, the brutally honest comments of a child …

  22. The meeting light idea was exactly what I was looking for. Wonder if I can sync that with my Microsoft teams calendar!!

Hi, does not your hub detect power outages? If yes, you could launch your routine/automation only when power goes off and back on right?

  23. Your family is too cute. This is a fantastic channel silly dad jokes couples with straight forward information.

  24. wow i love your tile floors. we chose hardwood in our new build because they said it would be a delay on our closing date, but i def wanted tile so im jealous XD

  25. Your stuff has become too complicated.

  26. Fuck me! that makes my automations look like a joke!

  27. with motion detection sensors built into your floor combined with a simple AND/OR logic would be way less as complicated as implementing the usage of different devices to switch on/off the ceiling lights. the problem with the lights in the bath switching off while u r in could be solved with sound detection. everyone is making different kinds of noise/sound all the time. for example, another way to avoid darkness, while u r reading is just to lock the lights somehow or block it, if u want to sleep. one way to block the lights in ur bedroom could be a pressure mat near ur bed.
i like ur ideas and effort u put into ur smart home and props to u for making ur ideas work although its obvious u r an amateur and not from this field (no hate). most applications shown in ur videos arent close to elegant (for example those smart plugs, motion sensors and unpolished automations) , not practical (need to use such a tabletholder in ur theatre room is simply out of place) and unnecessary complicated (still no hate) but nevertheless inspiring to me 😉 its easy to see there weren't no professional elctrician involved in ur projects. sry, but because this field is a big part of my everyday work i just cant fade out what i did see.
p.s.: i dont know if i would like to see ur electrical distribution board 😉

  28. What's the button you use at 2:55?

  29. power restore smart solution: home UPS.

I'm sorry but "smart bulbs" seem to be more of a hassle than a help. Also are power outages that common in the us? I think I've only witnessed one or two in my lifetime

  30. Pro as always.

  31. And lie there. LIE there.

  32. This is proof that you CAN go overboard with H/A

  33. Good idea about the switch in the bathroom. But it still won't work for me since nobody turns on the fan or the light above the bathtub when showering or taking a bath.
The other two bathrooms are perfect. Though I didn't have to use connected switches. In the first floor, where we had a real problem with the light being left on. I just installed a motion activated switch. It times out after 5 minutes but the bathroom only has a toilet so it doesn't time out on anyone while they're in there.
The bathroom in the master bedroom has a simple motion activated night light. Dim enough where it doesn't wake up anyone yet bright enough where you can see what you're doing.

I may have to use a motion sensor for the other upstairs bathroom because of nobody turning on the fan (as mentioned earlier). But for now it has a motion activated night light that pretty much does the job.
