Comments

  1. Can the real slim shady stand up

  2. The classic example of individualized pricing is air fares; if you check them a few times they go up; check the same time from a new clean device and the prices have gone down

  3. It would be hilarious of the reddit/bing block ends up improving chatgpt by not feeding it toxic user data.

  4. The car "play" connection (yes or no) is somewhat missing the yes for people who would
say yes to buying a car WITHOUT an infotainment system i.e. pre-2010 or classic cars.
I would have answered yes because I would buy a car without any "PC" type interface.

  5. Linus being upset at younger people buying cheap digital point and shoots/video cameras to get into photography and film making is his old man yelling at the sky moment for this episode.

Also CDs are making a comeback for a reason. They're cheap and are great way to build a library of lossless music that you OWN and can move onto any devices you want.

  6. 3:15 yeah,. isnt this technically even against net neutrality?

  7. No timestamps yet, sure hope they covered the stuff about mr beast getting exposed for fake giveaways/scamming followers this week. Would awkward to not cover that or his cyrpto insider trading after all the previous episodes of linus glazing him and saying he should be president.

  8. Leaving on the lights for after dark because the clips people didn't get it is fine. But making the entire WAN show short form content just for them is going too damn far.

  9. 11:30 I noticed that too! It's ridiculous, sometimes it finds stuff if you haven't typed the whole word for yet so you type "bre" and it shows what you want with "bread" in the title. But once you finish typing "bread" it disappears. Also it pushed a site where I have been ONCE always to the top and sites I visit everyday are not even part of the results anymore.

  10. The inshitification of everything will come for everyone

  11. Slim shady in the building

  12. Windows search is actually fine if you just disable its ability to search the web.
for some reason microsoft wants the search bar in your task bar to look for everything instead of only for stuff on your pc…

  13. DCS is finding out all there is to find out about The Streisand Effect. If they are still in business in three months I'd be shocked and it will be entirely their fault for trying to bully people when they simply don't have the clout to do so..

  14. Copper heatsink cosplay or what?!

  15. 21:37 linus.exe stopped working

  16. Awesome 2 hour show, still to long, but bearable.

  17. 23:53 i uave seen the price in the local store where i live change price in real time. 😂 So after you took it and wend to the cashier you might be paying more that youve seen.

  18. make a video moving the company to nextcloud

  19. Next week can we just make the whole WAN show about shitting on Google search and then the same thing next time until google fixes their !@#$ing search?

  20. i see linus finally lost his soul

  21. One Love!

    Always forward, never ever backward!!

    ☀️☀️☀️
    💚💛❤️
    🙏🏿🙏🙏🏼

  22. Luke if you have ear infection you should not wear headphones of any kind. You are making it worse, no air flow and the raise of temperature is no good, ask your doctor please.

  23. We've watched a thousand videos and unlocked the golden Linus

  24. That the hell is even that

  25. You should see Louis Rossmann's rant at DCS, that is a guy with conviction!

  26. Windows XP was garbage back then cause it was a work in progress, Windows search is garbage now cause they wanna connect it to bing and ads.
    The old Garbage was better.

Also I agree with Linus. I honestly rather have nothing show up then it link me to a webpage for a program on my computer.

  27. Louis Rossman, used National Library Australia's website archive.

  28. I thought google’s old motto was “do no evil”, the Reddit move is supervillain evil.

I switched for google to Kagi for search, search results without ads is refreshing.

  29. First topic sounds like a divorce… Jesus. This isn’t good.

  30. re: individualised pricing – You can demonstrate it easily with two people. Each person opens a secure chat via Tor, and then in a separate browser, open eiither Google Search or Microsoft Bing. Both people agreen on, and use the same keywords to locate an online store selling $random widgets. Both users click the link to that store's home page. Both users then search for the same item using the same term for the widgets. Both users click 'add to cart' followed by 'check out now.' If the company is setting individualised prices, then the totals will be different.

  31. Linus claims that Google cannot buy protection for its monopoly because OpenAI has Microsoft's backing. May I remind you that that is exactly what they did with Android to kill of Windows Phone?

  32. okay no CDs are still a thing because people want physical media, and that they own that forever and can sell them if they want. Hell, you can buy a CD, rip it to mp3s, then sell it. if you want old music, CDs are still sold as job lots for pennies. cheapest way to get high quality music reliably. No need to rely on internet connection, no need to rely on services staying up, no need for monthly payments.

Vinyl on the otherhand is still around because of the little rat in my brain that is fascinated by the fact I can spin this plastic with a £5 note pressed against it and I can hear my favourite song. Other like them because of the big poster that can hold the music in it and you can put it on your wall to make the room look nice.

for the camcorders, eh, people in photography and videography have used all sorts to do artsy things for a long time. people still use pinhole cameras, people still use polaroids, etc etc. after a specific medium becomes phased out, there will always be those who associate those downfalls of those mediums with positive memories, and thus crave that as an aesthetic choice.

  33. Gott em.

  34. Linus hair looks odd

  35. Google's government money has dried up?
EDIT: DEI competency crisis is unmasking itself to normies?

  36. Phev's should be called Dual Fuel hybrids… But whenever I talk about hybrids, I delineate by saying "Kinetic Assist Hybrid" and "Plug in Hybrid" in conversation, if people don't know, they usually ask, And I explain.

  37. = TIMESTAMPS = WIP as I watch
01:44 Reddit cannot be search indexed, except Google
06:17 Reddit alternatives for its user knowledge?
09:27 (Google) Search enshittification ft. Google Drive interface
17:10 Reminiscing WinXP and its search; possible video idea
20:27 FTC investigates surveillance pricing/individualized surge pricing

As it seems Noki isn't around yet, allow me & please excuse me to timestamp here, like I used to sometimes.
Let me know of subtopic/edit or rewording of timestamps suggestions and extras, if you find one.
Subtopics (the indented ones) are very contextual from the source topic or the episode itself, so even the subtopics may not be as accurate or accurately timed. As a weekday-ender show, it is recommended to just…go easy, watch the whole thing or the whole of a topic, & enjoy going with the flow of conversation.

  38. I already see someone making a tool to combine all the search engine results

  39. I just searched for the title of this show and I couldn't find it.

  40. Windows search actually works more or less fine when I disable web searches
