Everyone knows, big TVs are EXPENSIVE. At least, that’s what Samsung and LG and Sony want you to think. According to TCL, big TV’s don’t have to be expensive. We got this 98″ TV open box from Best Buy for less than $1500 bucks. But what’s the catch? Is it OLED? Is it VA? Is it made out of several smaller TV’s that no one wants? Would you be better off with a smaller, but more luxurious TV? You think we’re gonna tell you that here? Of course not, you gotta watch the video!

  1. As for many of us price vs value/quality is important. I went from a mid range 55" 20 year old plasma tv to an entry level 4k Samsung 75" floor model for $100. To me it was incredible value. I just don't bother being actively envious of better. But I'm usually very patient when it comes to buying tools and tech.

  2. 4:00 i actually broke a 75 inch TV as it required a table bigger than the TV, and a soft cloth or something.
They said to place it SCREEN DOWN, and it needs to hang off on one side, in order to screw in the stand (yes, not the 2 feet left/right).
    AAAAAnd i cracked the display,
I played dumb that it came like that, gladly they replaced it…….
I used the foam boards as left/right feet, in order to get it height enough to screw in the stand…. FFS

  3. 🗨️👾

  4. Segway or segue

  5. I have a 50” sitting at home and that 65” would dwarf it. This is insane and I need one

  6. China would have given you that wifi enabled webcam if they knew it was going in the LTT office

  7. "why would you let me do that"

  8. Those two TVs look identical on my TV.

  9. The problem I have is when you've only got space for a 32" TV and you try and buy a good 32" TV. I wouldn't need to wallpaper one wall with this monster in place… so a bit of money saved on decorating at least 🙂 .

  10. but big 👉

  11. If I had 100 dollar I would buy a laptop so I can continue my music carrier.

  12. $1500 is my salary for the month bro said “only”😂

  13. Why isn't beard linus back yet.

  14. Okay lads, you are very harsh on TVs, let's remember for 99.9% of regular people this TV would be amazing. You have just been spoiled by all the hitech stuff you get.

  15. 7:32 that’s the major difference between cheapo TVs and nice ones.

The power / capacity for wifi, streaming etc.

Cheap screens are best run with something else handling that stuff like a ps5, fire stick, pc, etc.

  16. At the end of the day boys will always compare size over anything else

  17. Dude it's hard listen to Linus complain about a 1500 dollar TV like it's a flaming bag of dog shit after a while

  18. You know it's a good video when a minute in they dropped something expensive

  19. It's cheaper than a short-throw 4k projector, and almost as cheap as the screen you'd need to buy to get anything like the contrast.

  20. I love my open box tcl

  21. Would have liked a review of the Hisense u76n 100 inch. That one has all the same features but also has dimming zones for way better blacks and brightness is better plus it’s $2199 brand new so would have a similar open box price

  22. The smoke alarm noise set off the smoke alarm alert notification on my Alexa 🤣

  23. You are ROBBED!!! PingDuoDuo (mother company of Temu) is now selling brand new TCL 100" (not 98") TV at RMB 8188, delivery anywhere in China included. That is, USD 1154!

  24. It's only 98 inch 🤔

  25. Me watching this on a 15+ year old LG plasma 💀🤣

  26. Costco sells the 70" version for $599 CANADIAN DOLLARS…….I have SERIOUSLY been considering it for my basement where I primarily play my Xbox series X so, although it isn't the best, it being "fine" and being in a darker environment I think it's the perfect compromise between "best" and BIG TV!

  27. Thats why is so cheap. You gotta spent the rest of the money with giant cushion tables.

  28. If i had a garage I'd totally buy this, that way i won't have to put up with the cons of a short throw projector.

  29. Lol its now $1300 for the fair, 1500 for excellent. My living room barely supports my 82"

  30. Being able to just nerd out tech with your friends has to be the best job.

  31. It came with a red slash of dead pixels right in the middle of the screen? 😅

  32. Best I can do is 3 inches 💀

  33. Orange haired Canuk Markus is at it again reviewing Unicorn tech for the everyday millionaire PC enthusiast…

  34. Use that giant, thick cardboard cover in the box as a place to lay it on.

  35. I "only" paid :l

  36. When did they hire Eminem??

  37. Yeah….I don't give af about artist intent, give me that vivid mode every day of the week.

  38. New TCLs have Google TV, but just a couple of years ago, they all used Roku, which imo was much better. The Roku software of like 5 years ago ran much faster than Google tv does now on their low-end tvs. I had to replace my kids old TCLs with new ones because one was too small for their large room and the other got broken and the Google software is godawful compared to the Roku and even the LG software on my 2 OLEDs from my living room and master bedroom. Worse is Google doesn't support the Spectrum streaming tv app like Roku does and since I dropped cable for streaming a couple years ago(same channels for $30 compared to freaking $180) I had to go buy Rokus for all the tvs. LG tvs and Playstations also don't support the app, so it's unfortunate the only things that do are basically every brand I don't use are Samsung, Xbox, Roku and Apple TV. So I wish TCLs just used Roku for their OS again as it's MUCH faster and supports Spectrum, so as it stands, I now have to have a Roku device plugged into every tv in my house lol. Or maybe Spectrum could quit being stupid and support the majority of devices like every other streaming service does, especially since TCL(probably the most popular budget tvs) dropped Roku for some stupid ridiculous reason.

  39. Box review when? How is the imagination?

  40. Man… this really is proof that size isn't everything 😂

I wouldn't even pay $1000 for this giant mediocre pain in the ass!

At least y'all can make money off this video: otherwise, I'd say you just wasted $1500 Canadian fun bucks.

Teenage me would've been disappointed by the specs & panel type, 33 y.o. adult me is just digusted by the idea of buying something that big + mediocre and thinking it's worth showing off.

  41. This is the go to tv for the guy with the hacked fire stick and only watches sports 😂
