  1. As a watchmaker, might I suggest watchmaking tools such as brass tweezers or a jeweler's loupe should help in these operations. Bergeon tools are my favorite but can be pricey.

  2. You don't want turbo with Intel anyways, lock all cores for better performance.

  3. Bring back CPU pins! They're much easier to repair.

  4. just buy instruments that are worth thousands of dollars and you can save 450$ THATS SO COOL

  5. Aaanddd I bet all the "untested" boards are completely gone from Ebay by now.

  6. this is probably one of the best linus videos ever ❤

  7. Best upload in times!

  8. I think Electrical Contact Cleaner Would have worked better for the socket.

  9. hey linus what test bench do you use or if anyone else knows please lt me know!

  10. Louis Rossmann would be proud.

  11. I bought an old Z170 Skylake board 2 years ago with a 6700k for literally 5$ from someone who just wanted it gone because they bent 5 or 6 pins on the mobo. Fixed it in about an hour, works great. Even overclocked to 4.4 rock solid stable. Yeah Skylake is old, but for 5$ i don't think I could have asked for better price/performance.

  12. I have found "untested' on ebay means.. we tried it and it's dead.

  13. day 1 of asking you guys to review cheap comp peripherals from india.2

  14. Im going to have a dabble into this and post a few results videos on my channel, Im in the UK so different market

  15. This is alternate universe Linus where he went into fixing hardware than upselling

  16. is it possible too get one motherboard support from south africa

  17. I just "upgraded" my PC yesterday. I forgot how time consuming it was, the CPU I wanted isn't supported by my current motherboard, so I bought a new board, and then I find out that board doesn't support my existing memory, okay, get in the car and go buy some ddr5 memory. "Well, I may as well replace my 500GB M.2 with a 2TB stick while I'm at it." So I bought a new stick. Buy a new tower heatsink and replace the stock intel heatsink. New case, this that pretty much all of it. In the end the only part I didn't replace was my 3070 GPU. And heck, they reckon 5xxx is right around the corner, maybe as well upgrade that soon also. 🤣🤣🤣

  18. The cool thing is that in this video (I only watched a third so far) they're not using a soldering iron. When it comes to PCIE slots and ram, they should be fairly easy to replace if you're a bit experienced.

  19. Amazing, Thanks for the journey

  20. how? just wait for another 10 years

  21. Linus is really just a demon

  22. TO REMOVE thermal paste…. on CPU sockets,—>WD-40 + compressed air<—-……

  29. SECOND GREATEST TECHNICIAN THAT EVER LIVED

  30. This is one of my favorite LTT videos in a minute- I love the hands-on videos and Linus’ enthusiasm is awesome

  31. Worth mentioning we are almost certainly completely okay with cheapo mobos novadays for "average" pc builds.

  32. And just like that, the price of broken motherboards on eBay just went up 500%..

  33. Get ready for all the cheap broken motherboards to get pricey after the tech world has seen this video 😉

  34. Why do you have a Chinese checkers board on your wall?

  35. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude

  36. That's just luck. For some of us, 100% guaranteed faliure.
