It took us 3 years to build the PS5 Killer and now we’re conspiring to murder the Pro in less than a week. It can’t be that hard, right? That $200 price bump EVERYONE is angry about gives us A LOT of extra budget when it comes to assembling our brand new PS5 PRO KILLER… Better GPU? What about a new Platform for our Ram and CPU?

Amazing Products 40 Next Level Gear & Gadgets On Amazon Under $50

Comments

  1. So much whining and coping and seething in the comments. Don't bother going down there lol

  2. Maybe take into account game prices. There is no competition in playstation store so ratchet and clank, dragon age and last of us are £70. On steam it is £50. So 40% Sony tax on games…

Buy three games get one for free on pc 😉

  3. Why even use a WIFI card its a PC not a Laptop just stick that cable in.

  4. PS5 PRO FTW

  5. Can also get free PC games from Amazon if you have Amazon Prime & Epic Games store often weekly. You can upgrade individual parts most of the time with a PC too or buy a cheap Steamdeck to play many PC games(including Epic Games store ones with some tweaking) with the savings.

I used to buy every console every generation from the PS2 onward to be able to play all games. Now it's just a Switch and a PC(technically Steamdeck too, but that's really for the g/f)! Never going back. 🤷‍♂

  6. Instead of buying PS5 pro, I just upgraded to 7900 XT with my old system.

  7. Man the research in this is pretty bad imo. I dont even like sony or the ps5 pro i thinks its a scam but everything in this video is just bad. The prices make no sense where are you finding a AMD 7800xt For 350 if not lower? Every site i check the lowest i could find is 460 usd so where did you find a 350$ low for the card? Not even bringing up why are you even using a AMD card for this build? Two of the things the ps5 pro is promoted with is good upscaling and ray tracing which AMD is known for failing to catch up on on both (You can even see in the games they use fsr breaks up to easily and arguably more ugly then pssr). Same thing with the NVME where did you find a 30$ one as low? That insanely cheap also you used the price of SABRENT 2TB Rocket NVMe PCIe which is $75 instead of WD_BLACK 2TB which is around $140 (its on sale as of making this comment). Thing is you can build a pc for around 700 onpar with the ps5 pro but their is going to be hiccups no matter what. You need to get used parts to build it otherwise it becomes impossible to match up since sony since they sell them at a loss.

  8. So, the PS5 Pro is more powerful than a 7800XT???

  9. You can increase the budget as theps5 pro doesn’t come with a disc drive

  10. Yeah buddy you failed, nobody would buy this over a ps5😂

  11. These two comparisons aside – R&C is the best game Ive played on PC for years!

  12. cpu 5600x,cant play 120fps on cod bo6

  13. This is soooo insanely dumb it hurts to even comment on. You’re comparing apples to oranges, then buying a rotten banana and calling it a victory 💀💀 I’ve unsubbed

  14. Cringe

  15. 3:39 No, Linus, you've got barely faster frequency due to using the ps 5 non-pro* frequency in the comparison. 5:38 Maybe on the ssd but not on the heatsink, that ssd DOES need a heatsink of any kind, otherwise any person who might wanna follow this "killer" part list might find their ssd soon getting "killed". Solid front panel doesn't help either. 9:06 MC1 Pro or any kind of heatsink from aliexpress at least…

  16. 300 bump in europe

  17. A lot of people forget to tag on the $80-160 a year for PsPlus. Console gaming is more expensive than just the console price.

  18. You guys are significantly overestimating the Pro's hardware. A Ryzen 5500 on an AM4 board will give you pretty close to equivalent performance to the Pro CPU. On the GPU side a 7700XT is a closer fit.

  19. $165 nod, well played Linus, well played!!!!

but you still lost all my respect on this video as soon as you said "Used Parts Necessary" and an automatic challenge failed right then and there.

  20. Im not so shure its as close as they are making out😂
For one point simply to use the ps5 online you need to fork over cash….
Now i have the cheapest possible psn acc, but it is still $11 a month works out to be $132 per year without buying a single game.
If you take the savings from their cheap pc and add it to the saving feom not having a psn acc, suddenly you have $232 spare to pile on the gpu budget.
    Jumping from a 300$ gpu to a 500$ is a massive difference

  21. Did he forget to put thermal paste?

  22. You could have added the disk drive and stand for a bigger buffer in cost. 🤣

  23. Linus mouthing David's word in the intro killed me for some reason.

  24. Console in 2024 makes absolutely no sense, the expensive games plus expensive online play is not worth the investment a PC can be usefull for browsing, work, gaming etc, etc. which will end up being better value over time. The console era was PS2, PS3 and the PS4

  25. I DONT CARE FOR COMPUTER OR MONITER

I just want a computer for Roblox to do Character AI and that it

  26. I mean that's one of the pros when it comes to PC, the value of the used parts market

  27. The question is can all ps and Xbox games be played with a pc now.

  28. To save people the waste of time, neither the PS5 or PS5 Pro "killer" PC's were able to kill the PS5 & PS5 Pro. Pointless comparison anyway. The point of even owning a gaming PC is to be significantly better than a console. If that wasn't the case, no one would hear the "PC MASTER RACE!!!!" crap all the time. I mean, who goes around saying "PC master Race!!! Although my PC is slightly worse than your console." 😂 Putting the sad face on the PS5 Pro is click bait garbage, too. Your build didn't kill anything whatsoever. Sad face should be on the PC for not living up to expectations of it being a "PS5 Pro Killer".

  29. Why is the HDR so much better on the PlayStation 😭

  30. Manufacturers can buy in bulk and cut costs with custom parts. Using used parts is pretty fair in comparison

  31. you could of gotten a RTX 3050

  32. That motion up scaling effect in the distance feels like heat mirage when you are using a rifle scope at very high magnification, IMHO

  33. There is nothing coherent, it is ridiculous.

  34. You guys should match the cost to manufacture a ps5 if Mark is worried about new parts

  35. DLSS will have much better image quality than FSR. So 7800XT is wrong choice, 4070 Super should be the right one.

  36. I don't think people are angry over the price, but overvalued and underpowered hardware.

  37. I would never build a new pc with old and used parts

  38. 8:57 what I would do with the 165$:
    – buy a BE200 PCIe Card from AliExpress for sub-40$
    – go for a 214-XT from ID-Cooling since it's a good cooler
    – buy a H510 Flow or Pop Air Mini from the secondhand market
    – If there's a optical drive slot, I'd buy a good quality Blu-ray optical drive

  39. This was embarrassing.

  40. 10:20 shows why basic consumers cant use a pc properly, settings adjustments are hard even for linus

  41. Unfortunately, since the PS5 Pro has an AI upscaler now, FSR just doesn't look that good. You guys should've tried to source an equivalent nvidia GPU for DLSS, to at least improve the visual quality to be similar to the quality produced with PSSR, since FSR could never.

  42. Cool !

  43. If we're realistic the ps5 pro has wayyyyyy better blacks. The PC blacks were muddy gray, very unpleasant tbh. I think the micro details being off is fine. Would rather just settle for a ps5 normal than either of these tbh

  44. I just got my first gaming PC last year, and while I still love my original ps5, I gotta admit that the pc is money better spent. With what I have in my pc (Ryzen 7 7700 and a 4070 with ddr5 ram) I would have no problem using my pc for the next 7 to 10 years with no real issue.

  45. 2:59 "uncut" … Like me 😛

  46. Just buy a pd5 pro and use a keyboard
