In all honesty, having an ultimate tech house is pretty nice. However there’s one aspect of my home that has been left, well, in the dark. So in today’s video, with the help of Homey, we switched over my light switches to Innovelli. And I think it’s time to see things in a new light.

  1. Who would've thought a smart home platform could be this powerful and this simple? Huge thanks to Linus, Jake, and the entire LTT team for showing how Homey can take your smart home game to a higher level (pun intended)! 🚀
Working with you guys was an absolute blast.
To help everyone reach Linus' level, we're giving the LTT audience exclusive early access to our Black Friday deals! Use the code LEVELUPLINUS via the link in the video description for €/$/£ 50 off Homey Pro and 12.5% off everything else.

    With love,
    Your Homeys at Homey ❤

  2. just stick with regular on off switch

  3. Linus, go Homey 100%

  4. Locally run, too! Wow… this is the way… 💡

  5. Makes me happy to have normal switches in my house.

  6. You should have gone the Loxone way (like you considered at the start of your adventure) downside being a star topology with the miniserver as a single point of failure. Starting with Loxone does in fact bind you to them for the foreseeable future.
On the plus side; if you take care to configure it to your needs and supply it with sufficient ways to detect presence, brightness,… the house knows when to switch on music, lighting,.. without any human interaction. Energy management and climate control work perfectly. All lights are DALI current controlled dimmable lights. I am very happy with the stability and the way it just works. The wireless stuff has more of a hobby factor to it IMO. I will also integrate hobby stuff into the Loxone setup from time to time, but never for key functions.

  7. And how many apps are you loading up to make all your smart switch's and lights to work when there should be only one app or one software or one OS? It is so fragmented when does it all come together?

  8. You can just hear Jake's thoughts near the end of the video "Oh yay, I get to redo Linus's entire house again soon with all the new switches!" This poor man.

  9. 50watts for a light? Can it run Crysis?

  10. You misspelled Inovelli as Innovelli in the desc.

  11. Okay, I'm sold. Now, if you guys can make it work off the Wi-Fi. The only reason why I'm using a Samsung Gen 2 hub without an "upgrade" is that the sensor works even offline

  12. Saving yhis for later… the wife approves of uncle linus so i get to watch on main tv.

  13. A house like yours calls for a Lutron QSX system including their shades line. ZERO issues, but you pay for it. A good trade off though. Integrates (in-officially) with Home Assistant, so you can do all your nerd automations.

  14. You should try Home Assistant

  15. Okay but what exactly is the point?

  16. This is all just an elaborate attempt to prevent Dennis from hiding in your house for days again.

  17. 4:21 "I need a stubby" has a different meaning in Australia but probably still suitable for home improvement work

  18. Linus, washrooms just put normal motion sensing not smart. Milmeter waves, is that not the xrays you get at the airport?.I use Lutron wifi switches for the last 6 years, and they have worked nearly flawless. Wifi goes down the you have manual switches. Wife loves them. Zero zwave. No lights going off.

  19. I learned my lesson with smart switches. Smart multi color led bulbs is better and easier install.

  20. JUST FLIP THE SWITCH WHEN YOU COME IN AND SWITCH IT OFF WHEN YOU LEAVE HOW HARD CAN IT BE

  21. I installed smart bulbs, switches, nest home devices, WiFi cameras, etc. it is a nightmatter when they are updated, when there are energy cuts, when they smart speaker do not understand (at the end they are not so smart). I started desinstalling most of the devices, is frustrairing when they are not working when we needed them the most.

  22. what a hide and go seek buzz kill

  23. If I ever get a house, I'd never get anywhere near all this, it's horrid how much trouble it is without that much of a benefit.

  24. How is it that I, an average idiot, could solve this with esphome switches and esphome motion sensors. With like 50 lines of YAML. I trust these guys to handle the vlan and a dedicated iot ssid side of things.

  25. just press a button to turn on the light.

  26. If first world problems were a video lmao.

  27. I live with a friend who has 6 teenage kids. And not one of those teens knows how to turn off a damn light. I am gonna look into these as they need something to help bring down power cost for the house.

  28. Mr. Whosetheboss has you one upped on the theatre room
