As an Apple fanboy, I found this very entertaining :D. Also, animation speed on my Pixel 7a is super fast and makes you feel like your brain is faster… The rest of Android I hate whole-heartedly. The end.
Now try moving whatsapp back to android much fun
As a long-time Apple ecosystem user, I really hope someone at Apple sees this and puts it in front of the decision makers (I guess Craig Federighi?)… All your points are valid and should be addressed by Apple. One can hope, eh?
Good points, but the ghost of Steve Jobs has me by the nuts with the ecosystem. Probably their best sell at this point.
The “ecosystem” is the primary reason I’ve opted for Apple. I have not seen an Android tablet that I was impressed with or even could tolerate using daily, and the compatibility/connection between Apple devices is very nice. If my experience with Android tablets had been better, I probably would have considered an Android phone.
I like the idea of getting a group of Android and iOS users to switch OS's for several months. Could be really entertaining to see the results.
and then "its animation time again"
I disagree with the game/landscape orientation part. When laying down or sideways, you never want your game to just do a massive flip 180°. You just learn the default direction it’s in and it stays “locked.”
I was anti android for far too long, always went with iPhone but 3 years ago decided to go android and don’t regret a thing!
the only thing that piss me off about the iPhone that i cant customize the keyboard like how hard is it to get a number row ?
i also switched from Android to IOS this year since the IPhone 4
"going back" is really a pain in the …
Sometimes you can swipe like in all Android devices, other times you need to press the back button on the top left and in another app the back button is at the bottom.. 🙁
Yes, it's time for Apple to implement a nice volume panel, especially when being connected to a bluetooth device, I don't want my game blasting the bluetooth speaker, i want it playing on my phone instead! As for the lack back button, I think it's a matter of being used to. I'm used to it, and when I grab an Android phone I just don't like having it, I get flashbacks of me quick tapping back 150 times to back home.
I switched from Android to iOS over four years ago for the convenience of the ecosystem, but I still hate the UI every day. Linus didn’t even mention half of it.
I switched to iPhone Long time Android, User and I Experience is you amazing over the Keyboard the Notification Management des White back and so many More Things
Haven't touched ios since the second gen ipod touch and so glad I haven't
xiaomi can also delete a screenshot after shared on whatsapp …
iPhone really is nothing special … at all …
At least two positive features you mentioned on iOS are available (for quite some time) on Android. Tucking away picture in picture to the side has been available since Android 12 AFAIK and unlocking phone with your smartwatch existed with "Smart Lock" now called "Extra Unlock". The other features were never seen on Android AFAIK and would be nice to have like the call related stuff.
I hope by reading the comments that people understand that this isn't a review video but a "this is how rigid Linus thinks" video. Honestly when you take a challenge it's about pushing back your previous instincts and embracing the change. Honestly I came from Android and I would still be on Android if it wasn't for my family, but I don't regret using the iPhone and there are some things about it that make me say I don't want an Android anymore. His rant about landscape is dumb, this must be based on the app, if I go into most apps I can turn them which ever way. My guess is that the app uses the buttons as an input if you want and if you orient it the other way the buttons are backwards or could be accidently pressed easier making for a worse experience. Instead of things being about me, me, me, take the time to understand that someone might just be saving you from yourself. Sometimes they are just dumbass coders, so there's that too.
you can still add an account using the same way the other people told u for the mails app but for the calendar (looks like u didn't check) cuz if u did u would see in ur calendars list one that has the name of ur gmail account. also scrolling on android is different than on ios, android increases the max speed depending on the current speed of the last scroll, apple doesn't, it just added the forces, so if u do wanna scroll fast u just gotta quickly swipe. also the landscape thing u talked about with the game, is the game developers fault as I'm one myself, in many engines for ios apps there's something along the lines of landscape auto and landscape fixed1 and fixed2 depending on what the developer selects, not sure the naming scheme on that specific engine but its not their fault
the closed ecosystem of apple remains a reason i just cant use an iphone. like who actually enjoys the fact that if you want to connect to all services on earth or services you have been using for a long time on windows android and linux you would be needing to carry a android smartphone around aswell any time you are going far from home?
17:34 yeah i know that problem, which is android do better since u can lock the orientation but it still can change depending on hold u holding phone.
Transferring media contents from Iphone to PC is a PITA, with android it's so easy because of no restrictions.
Me: what the fuck he is talking about, I can absolutely go to a notes app and lock it in landscape, it works on YouTube fine.
You can imagine my surprise when it switched to portrait when holding landscape in the notes app. That should be such a simple and easy fix.
My ipad sometime showed the keyboard in dark mode, sometime it doesnt, weird
I don't like Apple, because of the things they are missing like in iOS the volume control or going back in apps. My newly installed Mac Studio is so much slower than and Linux on my 10-year-old computer. Maybe it's the beta OS, but really? These devices aren't cheap. But I always keep switching to Apple because something on my Linux System breaks or is too complicated to setup. Or Android just sucks for me. On Android I have spelling mistakes in every sentence I write. On iOS I can write whole messages without mistakes. But changing languages is a pain in the butt for iOS or talking to Siri in a different language than the main language in iOS is fun, but not very usable. I do not have that problem with Gemini or Google Assistance. And sometime iOS just makes up some messages with words I have never seen before. I understand if there are spelling mistakes, but why does it have to change my entire sentence to something unreadable? I have to delete everything and write it from scratch. My fingers can't be that chubby, and it worked the message before, so what's the difficulty? I want to go back to my old dumb phones without Google or Apple. I loved the Ubuntu phone 🤭
Omg the volume going 100% out of no where has been an issue I've had for 2 years on two phones.
Everyone told me I was crazy. Glad a big channel said it, apple may actually look at it now.
100% on the back navigation.
@Linus Jetpack Joyride isn't rotating because you've locked orientation from the control center.
Is Linus’ right arm is purple stripes, and left is green. Or is that just the lighting? Crazy kids.
dw u can give it 2 me ❤🙌📈
I think about getting an iPhone for video purposes, but the thing of keyboard mess is a big problem for me. I love my GBoard on my Android device.
Back button is still a deal breaker.
I exclusively switched from android to iPhone for blue bubbles. I was informed that iPhone has gotten way better, so I thought I would be able to make a few sacrifices in customization in order to avoid being a social pariah. Boy was I wrong! This thing sucks in about 1000 little ways! I can't type for shit even after a year with the phone! It turns off my audio book while I'm listening to it to save memory! Apps freeze ALL THE FUCKING TIME! Palm rejection sucks ass. It's a good thing the screenshot management is good because I accidentally take them all the fucking time. I hate this thing and the only way I could possibly comprehend not hating this thing is if you've just never even thought of owning a product that doesn't suck. And after all this, I still don't have any friends! But I have blue bubbles guys, why don't you like me?!
