I'v wanted RGB clothing for years but no one makes it outside of way too cheap costume stuff or way too expensive costume stuff.
i love the NAS thingy, but your argument about Mac OS is not correct because Mac OS is free and if you argue that it comes with the computer, once, but when there is a new version, you just get it (u used to have to buy every new version)
All Linus is missing is a fur RGB crown and a golden staff
As someone still stuck with a 1050 for the next few years, this ray tracing requirement hits hard!!!!
It may have been addressed later in the show, so I apologise if so, but wasn’t Metro Exodus enhanced edition the first game to force hardware ray tracing?
1:49:01 i'm pretty sure that's made up to fuel AI fearmonger. It's there to justify "AI safety board". It's a scam. It's a distraction from real ongoing issues like lawsuits and real damage done to real people.
The HexOS talking points give off crypto scam vibes now.
Doesn't matter what TV (or projector) you have. The digital file that the cinemas get has a much higher bitrate than even the best quality 4K UHD Blu-Ray or streaming service so its impossible to get a home experience that can match a cinema with any kind of decent digital cinema setup (like the Barco laser projector the theater I go to uses). Sure, if you have a 4K UHD Blu-Ray or even a top-tier top-quality streaming plan and you have a high-end home theater setup, the quality difference probably isn't enough to make a trip to the cinemas worthwhile but there IS a difference.
But if you are like me and watch movies on a fairly low end ASUS 23" 1080p computer monitor with a pair of Creative Labs 2.1 channel speakers, the difference between "at home" and "in the cinemas" is 100% worth it (which is why I went to see Moana 2 on opening day and really enjoyed it)
(Regarding the conversation about rice from around 2:10:48) I'm married to Japanese woman and we have kids that eat a ton of rice, here is the rice cooking method that we use:
* of course, get a Zojirushi or Panasonic rice cooker. These make your rice-cooking and eating life really easy.
* Leaving rice in the rice cooker for it to be kept warm for a few days is probably ok, but any longer (or if you're a multi-person household and your rice throughput is high) and you'll want to freeze it.
* Best simple way we have found to freeze it is: lay a square of plastic wrap out on your counter, then take a scoop or two of the warm rice and put it into the middle of the square. Then wrap the rice up with that plastic wrap and pat it down so that it kind of flattened (just a little is fine, you will want these to be able to sit on top of each other). Do that as many times as needed for however much of your rice is left over. Put these wrapped up packs of rice directly in your freezer. This will freeze the moisture directly with the rice, so that when you reheat it in the microwave (about 1.5-2 minutes for one of those packs), it will come out just as moist and tasty as when you put it in.
Note: there are specific purpose-built containers that you can buy for this "freeze freshly cooked riced" use case, but in case you can't find any near you, or don't want to buy such a specific container, the plastic wrap method will work just fine.
I just went back and watched the HexOS video after finishing this WAN show, and I suddenly understood where the sentiment is coming from. Whereas the Framework announcement came across as more of a disclosure, where the focus was on how it wouldn't affect the integrity of LTT reviews and if Framework stepped out of line there'd be a messy brake up, the HexOS video comes across as a sales pitch. The savvy LTT viewer is then put into the buying mindset, with all of the advice that Linus has given out over the years like "don't preorder" and "don't make buying decisions based on future promises" drilled into their head. The cherry on top is the call to action at the end with the temporary sale, incurring FOMO or leading many (based on the comment section) to a value judgement that $99 might be worth it but $300 isn't, exacerbating the preorder issues.
So yes, I do think there was an issue with the way that the information was presented, and "the audience is wrong" seems like the wrong takeaway here.
I think a lot of people missunderstood the (beta tester) part of HexOS. As i understood it, which 100% could be wrong there are 3 reasons for it. First would be they need an influx of cash since they worked for 2 years only on initial investments (maybe some more down the road). Second since the product is ready for use but not completly polished buying it at a reduced price seems fare and they get ot have proper customer feedback before they push the 1.0 out. The last is the whole beta testing thing, which i think gives the whole product a disservice since you are getting a funckional product from the transaction that you can use. In my opinion people are taking so much offens about paying to be a beta tester, brother this is not a video game its a product that you can use and are paying reduced price for because its not 100% polished and to get some feed back from you. That is where a big diconect happens at least from all the comments i read over the last week. And at the end of the day the product just might not be for you and that is OK not everything needs to be for everyone. Thank you for listening to my TEDtalk
When googling business calendar for android the app Linus uses is the first result now
"But the freezer's right there".. Bro, facts
Nigeria is a democracy they dont have Princes
Ppl dont want to pay for a Beta, meanwhile Path of Exile 2 goes through the roof. xD
that manscaped ad was wild
The perfect parallel to define HexOS running on TrueNAS is Windows 95 running on MS-DOS, these two things are fundamentally the same thing relative to one another.

1:50:40 Linus, since you're on an OG movie thing, I recommend Zero Hour!, a B-movie from 1957. It essentially has the same story and same script (and the same shot-for-shot setup and camera angles) as Airplane!, but is a straight drama, not a comedy. (And as a bonus Easter egg, the co-pilot in both movies is a sports star. In Zero Hour! it was a footballer called Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch – in Airplane! it was the basketballer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.)
Side note: The script began life as a remake of the Canadian television play Flight into Danger – never heard of it myself, but maybe up north you get to see reruns of shows like that?
no paid for betas lol over 1 million bought path of exile 2 early access.
The Green Mile is one of those movies I feel still has held up
